In Buddhism, monks are referred to as bhikkhu and they practice a disciplinary code named patimokkha. Bhikkhus eat only in the morning and live simple lives in a quest for understanding and knowledge. Bhikkhu are only allowed to posses four things: a razor, a needle, an alms bowl, and a water strainer. This concrete cast statue depicts a bhikku dressed in his traditional robes in a praying pose. This bhikkhu statue is brown and measures 8.5 inches tall, 7 inches wide, 6 inches long and is a great way to remind yourself that there is often great beauty in simplicity.

Great Statue
This is a solid cast sculpture and certainly will be durable for display both inside and out and no doubt able to withstand the elements. It is heavy though so care must be taken that it will not fall on the heads or toes of adults or children and that should/must be taken into consideration when displaying statue.

I liked it so much I bought one for myself
I bought this as a gift for my friend. I liked it so much I bought one for myself. It now sits on my porch and offers his prayers to all who enter. My friend was thrilled with this statue.
