Cold brew coffee is better than the pour over method. A coarse grind works best for a stronger brew, but use good beans for the best flavor.It really does make the best tasting coffee ever.I love this elegantly shaped carafe, the fine mesh filter, and the solid feel of the lid. All glass, no cheap plastic parts here! You can also make a very concentrated brew, if you want, or use it for tea brewing. It's easy to clean, just dump the grounds in the trash or compost and rinse the filter.The result was a very smooth, less acidic cup of coffee. I found the flavor best after 12 hours in the refrigerator.Fast shipping and great customer service too!

I had such high hopes for this beauty, but unfortunately it has a few functional flaws that render it ineffective:1) the filter extends only part-way into the flask, and near the narrow top of the flask so little water surrounds the filter that one must fill it all the way and it wont steep much once you pour a little out.2) the top does not fit without the filter or an awkward removal and switch-out of the gasket, even with the gasket, the top does not seal the opening, the pour spout area stays open . It is indeed very high quality and, alas, like many a girlfriend, very pretty to look at but quite inconvenient and not worth the money or time. I am returning it and going back to buying pre-made cold brew.

I had a very hard time with this Cold Brew Pitcher. If I ground the beans too much, my coffee would be the right strength, but i'd have a bunch of coffee grinds in my coffee. If i ground the beans normally, there would be no grounds in my coffee, but it would be very weak. I tried for two weeks to find a perfect balance before retuning it.I prefer putting coffee grounds directly into a pitcher of water and filtering it through a french press the next day. Its not as elegant of a solution, but it works much better than this thing.

Works as expected but if you intend to leave the coffee in the carafe after removing the strainer the top is very loose.

I'm so glad I bought this! I love cold-brew coffee but it took too much time to make so I didn't make it very often. This is so much easier!I use pre-ground coffee (because I already had it in the freezer) and I would definitely recommend a more coarsely-ground coffee because some of the fine ground coffee gets through the strainer thing.

Smoothest coffee I've ever tasted. The longer brew process is completely worth it. It's easy to vary the strength and fun to experiment. I look forward to trying various teas as well. Since it doesn't require any electricity and has a permanent filter, it's incredibly economical and ecologically responsible. And it's the prettiest thing on my counter.

Delicious coffee in the morning when I need it and also later in the day when I come home from work. It's 80 degrees in NYC today and I'm particularly enjoying my delicious brew. The coffeemaker looks beautiful and inviting on the counter too (no need for that space-gobbling Keurig).

Makes good coffee. Carafe glass is pretty thin and shape makes it hard to clean
