I wanted to use my existing Yakima rail grab attachments and 48" bars on our Jeep Wrangler's stock hard top. This solution was the best and cheapest that I could find. The 48" topline bars were too long for the Jeep hard top, so I cut them to about 37". Drilling into the roof is a little nerve racking, but easy and nice looking when you get them lined up properly.FYI, the 48" is just the length of the bar. Each roof platform adds about 8" more to the overall length. So the 48" kit will really be 64" overall. However, cutting to length is easy, and recommended in instructions.Security may be an issue, as they are only held down with 12 Allen screws.I will update the post if they cause any problems with a kayak attached at 70 mph... But they feel solid so far!
