Maclocks MBPRLDGZ01 Ledge Security Lock Slot Adapter for MacBook Pro (Silver)

This particular lock does not work with the new MacBook Pro 13. I had to order another lock which I will have to wait to install since my child left for school.

Purchased this for my son for his mac book for college. Very easy to put together. He's very happy with it.

I installed it on my MacbookPro Retina 2014 15 inches. It comes with 2 extra rubbers to lift the back of the computer. I burned a hole into my Mac's plastic case for this and I like the feeling and looking of this; I didn't use the rubber feets since my case already lift the computer. I still feel is a little pricy, and that it is just one Phillips-#0 screw away from taking it off (I expected a special type of screw's head at least). Overall, I'm happy with this purchase for leaving my computer unattended at the office from time to time.

The Screw might as well be made of butter. I didn't know there was metal that soft. I stripped the screw with a 2" screwdriver.

Nice to be able to find a lock for computer as Apple didn't build one in and you dont want to leave computer unattended and unlocked

I got one of these and the Maclocks Wedge. It is not as secure as the Wedge because it mounts off 1 screw vs 4. Also make sure you install it on the opposite side you would use a mouse. With cable lock on you it makes anything you do on that side of the laptop difficult and cluttered. Overall I did not find it to be a strongly secure and I returned it.

Apple has been the definitive standard for which all others are judged, however they are getting pretty bizarre in their old age...especially with their laptops. There are becoming fewer and fewer reasons to justify their added expense; permanent batteries, no ability for disc + Solid State drives, no Kensington locks, etc.. They seem to be building all of their laptops to satisfy little high school students and leaving business people in the cold.Hey Apple...I don't need my laptop to be rice paper thin...I need it to have practical features and to work every time I turn it on. Now their newest laptops will require docking stations to make them work. If you want to impress me, start using current technology ultra-high capacity fire proof nano batteries!At least Maclocks has the right idea. I didn't buy mine at Amazon, but I did buy one from Maclocks for my 15" MacBook Pro and it saved the day. I did however use a 4400 psi epoxy to secure it to my laptop instead of only relying on the micro screw they provide. They include the special screwdriver but anyone with one can jack your laptop so I epoxied mine on; but only on the bottom cover, not on the side.

It does not work on the 2020 MB pro. Nothing in the description indicates it is not compatible.
