This is cleaner than a bug zapper, which totally disassembles the poor bug and then you have to clean up the mess. This seems to be a quick and humane way of killing the pest. It does work on carpenter bees but you have to shoot them several times and it basically tortures the poor creature. A bug zapper works better on the bigger bugs.
