AMAZING tools! Debris retriever is a must have for high roofs.
We have some gutters that are about 9 feet high, and others that are 26 feet high. This set was EXTRAORDINARILY helpful! The scoop was great for the lower gutters when we used a bucket. It made clean-up a breeze. We did not use the scoop for the high gutters because we didn't bother with a bucket (just slopped the crud off and onto the ground below). The "debris retriever" was the true lifesaver of the set. A 28 ft. extension ladder is very heavy, and not fun to be climbing up and down on repeatedly and shifting across the house frequently. There was only debris in about 1.25 of our 4 gutters (square roof), but it was enough to fill more than a 5 gallon bucket of solid wet sludge (no dried leaves)! There was a little forest growing up there too! The debris retriever was AMAZING! The amount of time and energy it saved from constantly going up and down and moving the ladder was worth every penny we spent, and then some. It was able to pull the forest and all the debris with ease. While we probably should have treated it with more care, ease and safety took priority while up so high so the stick was tossed down to the ground a few times from 26+ feet so it would not have to be carried down the ladder. It is very durable because it handled the drops well - no cracks, no issues. Not that I recommend throwing it down from that high, but just to say that it is very durable and can handle the fall if it happens accidentally.

Better than using a leaf blower or my bare hands
I hate cleaning my rain gutters. Using the leaf blower creates a horrible mess everywhere, and using my bare hands usually results in cuts and scraps not to mention doing a pretty incomplete job. This kit does a pretty good job of getting the stuff out of the gutters in a way that I can dump the leaves etc into a bin below my ladder. The scraper (or whatever they call it) is a little awkward to use but it does extend my reach so fewer moves of the ladder to get the leaves to me and out of the gutter. It is pretty awkward close up so I end up using my hand to help get the leaves into the scoop. The scoop is the real star of the show though, it gets a lot of leaves at once.I also like the Big Top downspout strainers. I had actually gotten a few of these before and liked them so the included pair was a bonus. I ended up getting more of them so I could put them on all my downspouts. They will ultimately make up for the other slight deficiency of this kit - it doesn't provide any help for getting stuff out of the top of a clogged downspout. I resorted to my old standby - the curly end of a disassembled wire hanger - I just clear a bit of an opening and let water from the gutter clear the rest of the clog out. But preventing the clog is better, so now I have the Big Tops in place.

Nice product but not so good for wider guttering.
Well made, and a good value for the price, but not very efficient for six inch gutters. The scoop is designed for an average sized gutter and I found that for our wider gutters it was easier to just scoop with my hand. A great product, and I am sure that if you have a four inch gutter to clean it will work very well. Not so hot on wider guttering, so if you have six inch gutters you may want to skip buying this. This brief review is based on my experience with six inch gutters only.

Saved Lots of Time, Hard Work, & My Hands (narrow gutters too!)
I have very narrow gutters, which makes cleaning them very difficult on my hands. My hands always get very scraped up and takes a lot of hard work to dig out handful by handful into a bucket with the help of a garden spade. However, this completely solved my hands getting scraped up, and significantly minimized the hard work and time involved. I am very happy with this. It isn't built to last forever, but for the price, it saved me a lot of time and no scraping my hands. The four piece extension scraper is quite long and saves you a lot of time moving the ladder. I could just pull the thick muddy leaves towards me. I really didn't have to move my ladder at all for my ~12 foot sections. My only difficulty wasn't related to this, which was having to get around a tree that was in the way of ladder placement. It easily scrapes thick leaves, mud, and water in my narrow gutters. You only have to work a little bit getting above and under the reinforcement bars that hold your gutter out at even intervals. I just pulled from the top, then fit under and pulled the rest. Also, I scraped a few feet at a time working outword instead of trying to pull everything at once from the furthest reach towards me.The scoop is absolutely excellent for my narrow gutters. It is plastic and flexible and can push into different widths. However, you cannot easily just scoop. What I did was use this scoop as a pan, scoop it in at an angle, then use a garden spade to pull the thick muddy leaves into the scoop and pack it in, and then in just a few quick scoops into a bucket it was done. It might not hold up durably forever, but the flexibility is perfect and the only thing I could imagine could fit into my narrow gutters in place of my hands.I still used a gutter cleaner hose attachment, which is not part of this set, to wash out the mud & debris. It could have been left in perhaps, but it is easy to wash out with a U-shaped hose attachment two sweek along towards the down spout. The rest just runs down the down spout. I am very glad I did because my down spout was clogged at its first elbow. I just used a garden dirt poker to try to dig it out and it instantly poked free with proding. I then finished flushing it.I easily inserted one of the down spout drain grate over provided in this set. So hopefully it will not get clogged again. There are two plastic tabs that you turn down and insert into the opening. With the narrow hole for my down spout, it squeeses the grate to fit snugly over the hole. I suspect those little tabs will crack off eventually in the hot summer heat. So I don't know how long it will last in place. It will also have to be removed for the next gutter cleaning because the scraper cannot just scrape over it with it in the way.

The long handle is loosened too easily, rendering it pretty much unusable since you're constantly screwing the pieces back together. The scoop is fine although you can use a gloved handle just as easily. The plastic screens work really well, however.

2) The 'scraper' would work nice if it wern't for the 'standoff's that most gutters ...
Didn't work for me.... 1) The scoop was too big to fit in between my metal roof and the gutter opening. 2) The 'scraper' would work nice if it wern't for the 'standoff's that most gutters have to stiffen the gutter. My standoffs are about 2 feet apart so I can only scrape 2 feet worth, and even that can't be done more than one standoff from where the ladder is.I quit using the cleaning kit and will use either a leaf blower (which works quite well) or my hands.
