They're labeled left and right. I immediately inserted them into a pair of Thursday boots and they fit great and filled the toe box just so. The rope at the back does, in fact, ease removing them from boots. I purchased a pair of cedar shoe trees, for boots, that are tall. Now that I've tried these, I don't know which I like better.
