Great for truck/SUV bed mounting. It's DIY as far as installation. It does not come with ANY mounting hardware.
High quality and well crafted mount for deck mounting in my CRV. Will work for other application but you have to come up with the mounting solution. For my use I'm using it to transport my 2013 Cannondale CAAD8 and a 2017 Stumpjumper 650b. I bring my bike to work so I can ride after. So leaving it on my roof bike rack is not an option. Inside my limo tinted SUV is the safest bet for transporting. This kit comes with a 9mm x100mm QR mount. This mount slides into the 15mm x 100mm thruaxle adapter, and is secured into the mount by the top knob. This worked out great for my road bike, a very secure mount with the QR.However when I mounted my Stumpjumper, the 15mm thruaxle adapter was 10mm too short. Unstable, because the Maxle could not clamp into anything. I found out my Revelation fork is boost ready. That means the width of the forks will fit a 110mm hub.I emailed tools for bikes at their webpage for a solution and did not receive a reply whatsoever. That sucked. But I wasn't giving up. I went to ebay and found shims which I ended up not using. I kept on looking at the enclosed adapters to see how I can make this work. Then I noticed the 20mm adapter is longer than the 15mm. The 20mm adapter width is 110mm!!! Hallelujah!I popped it into the mount and tested it out. There was some play but once my 15mm Maxle was engaged, it was rock solid. Now I'm happy. If you're exacting, and need to have a 15mm maxle into a 15mm adapter it's available in ebay it's an aluminum 20mm x110mm to 15mmx110mm reducer seller is mtbtools.I did not mount this directly to my rear deck, the msg there is too thin. I mounted it onto a piece of wood 3/4"h x 22"w and about 5" d. With industrial Velcro under it, and that mounts very strongly onto the automotive carpeting of the rear deck. Very strong adhesion and hard to pull up. It's mounted via a hex bolt going into a tee nut so it's flat on the underside.
