RUBAN Case For MacBook Retina Pro 15 inch A1398 (2015-2012) , Plastic Smooth Matte Hard Case Shell with TPU Keyboard Cover, Pink

This cover fits my 2013 15" MacBook Pro well, and I have not had any cracks or problems, unlike other reviewers. It looks very nice and protects my laptop shell. I have the clear one. It came with a keyboard cover which I used on a whim, and lo and behold, my laptop doesn't get dirty now! Go figure. I love this! I can wash it off, and then lay it back on after a quick dry on a dish towel. My laptop has never looked better, or been cleaner. I wish they would sell the keyboard covers separately from this company because I want one for my wireless keyboard. All others have been too thick and clunky compared to this one.

This protective case and keyboard overlay is a nice solution for moderate protection of my 15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display.The case is a perfect fit as is the keyboard overlay. The protector does not obstruct access to ports.I have not dropped or abused my computer. I am not willing to do a damage control test to really "test" this cover. But it certainly protects the outer finish from everyday use and transport (in my leather bag with separate laptop compartment).The rubber pads and cooling grill on the bottom are a plus. And the keyboard layover keeps dust and other moderate contaminants from entering through the key slots. The layover also protects the graphics on the keys.I highly recommend this package and would buy it again.AN UPDATE 4 YEARS LATER:I just purchased this product again for the 3rd time! As I reviewed the first time, this case provides moderate protection. For me, and my road usage, I need to replace it about every 2 years. The outer housing of my MacBook Pro remains as scratchless as the day I bought it. And the keyboard cover, which will eventually wear out from years of typing, keeps dust and grit and possibly small spills from falling onto the keys and into the electronics. The RUBAN case and keyboard cover is cheap insurance for use on the go. The RUBAN is always on my computer. I use it in conjunction with a padded zipper case within a leather computer bag during transport. This system works very well for me.

I bought this same case from another retailer in 2014 and it lasted 3 years. My MacBook looks brand new. The silicone got "tacky" over time so I bought a different case which turned out to be hard to hold onto and had a large crack and broken off corner in no time. It was shot in less than 6mos. I found this one, from Ruban, and am supper pleased. It has the silicone cover that keeps it from slipping out of my hands and the keyboard cover is so much thinner than others that I'm actually using it. AND it is half the price of my 2014 case. AND this one comes with 4 extra "feet" in case the ones on the case come off. Happy, Happy!

Love the case. The black matte is sexy. When open the apple logo shines through.I have two macbook pros- the 2011 and recent retina. The retina laptop is sleek and thin. By adding this case, it is as thick as it's predecessor and almost as heavy. The cost of protection. I have to admit, not sure how much fall protection this case will offer.I was looking for a case that would protect my laptop from scratches. This does that. Given the added weight, I maybe should have gone for a bodyguardz sticker cover. All that being said, I will keep it cuz it looks cool. :-)UPDATE: After using it for a couple of days, I noticed that the top and bottom portion of the case did not line up. Also, the bottom (front) part of the case was sharp and stuck up a bit - thereby making my wrists hurt. I removed the case and with a bit of sand paper, sanded down all of the edges. Wow, what a difference. The case now lines up nicely and it is smooth to the touch. Worth the small amount of trouble given the huge cost savings.

I've had this for about two months now and the best I can say is that it's meh. It helps identify my near identical laptop from my husband's at a glance, but it isn't going to protect much of anything in the case of a drop or when my three children decide to either try and use my laptop as a step stool or have a sudden death cage match with it.The case isn't a piece of precision equipment. I've found one or two sharp corners that required some extra attention so it wouldn't scratch my arms. The fit is pretty good, but there is one section that is warped slightly so it doesn't sit flush to the edge of the computer. Still, for the price, I wasn't expecting NASA grade protection. The rubber "feet" for protecting a work surface from scratches are merely plastic stick on pads, which fall off quickly. Ruban is at least nice enough to include four extra, but I shouldn't have to dip into them a few weeks after owning the case.My biggest gripe is with the keyboard skin. After only two months, it has started to bubble up so that it doesn't sit flush with my keyboard any longer. Perhaps some would find that a minor annoyance, but as I have a Moshi cover that I've used for over 3 years with no issues, it's disappointing. I guess this is another example of you get what you pay for.So, as long as you're going in with the expectation that this is more a customization of a laptop than pure protection, you'll be fine.

I purchased this to not only have color on my MacBook, but to offer some protection for my laptop. I really like this cover. It fit perfectly without any problem. I have seen a lot of reviews about it not fitting, so it makes me wonder if the MacBook Pro with and without retina may be a little different because I did not have a problem with fit for my Retina laptop. It has a soft, matte finish and allows my Apple logo to shine through. I like the keyboard cover that matches and several people have commented on this additional piece. The bottom of the case has little rubberized disks and air vents to allow the MacBook to breathe.I would definitely recommend this case and plan on buying other colors.
