Initially had trouble figuring out how to open the battery compartment as it wouldn't slide up as the arrow directed until I had to apply greater force than should be expected to open it. On installing the included batteries and closing up the back cover, I found it wouldn't turn on. 2nd guessing myself that I had installed the 3 batteries incorrectly, I reopened the back cover to find the battery installation was correct, but on taking the batteries out to check contacts, 2 of the 3 batteries were VERY HOT (they had only been in the compartment a matter of only 2 or 3 minutes.
