Well made lounger
I received this inflatable lounger free for testing and review. What you're getting with this order:(1) Inflatable lounger(1) Carry caseWhat is this and why might I want it?: This is an inflatable lounger that requires no pump. It is said to be lightweight and portable via its carry bag. It is advertised as an alternative to carrying a chair and is said to give users the opportunity to lie down, sit etc... This model feature a double chamber design.Does it work?: This is a complicated answer. The short answer is yes, and in fact this model works about as well as any I've tested. BUT, even this one doesn't work as easily as photos would lead one to believe. I've tested it thoroughly and have the following observations to share:Build: Essentially nylon and light weight, these are not made to endure a lot of punishment on rough terrain. Your best bet is to use it with a blanket underneath. If you're on soft sand, no problem. If you're on rough ground or have sticks and rocks etc... you could easily tear this thing. As far as these inflatable loungers go, this one has a build that meets all expectations.Function: Ok, that full look you see in pictures is not at all easy to get. Why? Because these do not have any kind of pump or valve for inflating. This is great for portability and keeps them light weight. However, unless you've got a lot of wind, or access to a large fan, you simple can't fill this thing all the way up. I had the most success opening it wide and combing running with wide swooping motions. When you feel like you've got as much as you're going to get in there, let the collar snap shut and then repeat with the other mouth. When you feel like you have all the air you can capture, then roll at least three times and buckle (just like a dry bag). If you had a lot of wind or access to a fan, perhaps you've filled it all the way up. More than likely though, you'll need to roll the collar several times costing you length.I've tested this on the beach at Whiskeytown Lake with both children and adults. The children liked it more, but were also the more frustrated group as even slight movement can send the lounger rolling and the child slides off. The other problem kids have is that they try to sit in the center and get swallowed up. Please note these issues are true of ALL loungers and not just this model. Also noted was that even though the lounger holds its air fairly well, it can't help but lose some each time an adult uses it. The solution is just to open and re-swoop of course.Anything else of note?: At the posting of this review, the lounger is eligible for free shipping to members of Amazon Prime; always a check in the plus column to me.Any negatives?:-Difficult to fully inflate. You'll be lucky to have it looking like the product description pics.-Awkward to use, especially for kids. Easy to slide off or get sucked into the middle.Bottom line: Please note that this is a well made inflatable lounger. So, why 3 stars then? The product idea itself is simply OK no matter who is making it. It's a nice, portable alternative to heavier chairs, but getting it to fully inflate is difficult and its use can often be awkward. If you already know that you want one of these, then this is a good model to consider.
