BANGARANG condensate neutralizer is a device used in heating systems to neutralize the acidic condensate produced by high-efficiency boilers and furnaces. These heating systems use combustion to generate heat, which produces acidic condensate as a byproduct. The acidic condensate can cause corrosion and other problems in the drainage system, which can lead to leaks and other issues. The condensate neutralizer works by raising the pH level of the condensate to a less acidic level, reducing the risk of damage to the drainage system. The device typically consists of a container filled with a neutralizing agent, such as calcium carbonate or magnesium oxide, which is designed to react with the acidic condensate to raise its pH level. The condensate flows through the neutralizing agent, which neutralizes the acid before the condensate is discharged into the drainage system. Condensate neutralizers are often installed in the drainage system of high-efficiency boilers and furnaces, and may be required by local building codes or regulations. They are an important component in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of these heating systems, and can help to prevent damage and extend the lifespan of the equipment.

Easy Install Works Well
This neutralizer offers the ability to refill the media, and handles the needs of most non-commercial tankless water heaters at a reasonable price.

Great price and works great.
Great price and works perfectly. It's been a little over a year and it's still working great. Treated water discharging at Ph level of 6.

Good product but need a vertical mounting unit
Instruction manual says the unit can not be mounted vertically. I'm assuming this is because the condensate needs more time to filter through the limestone gravel to raise the ph of the condensate. I imagine with enough elbows and clamps I could figure out a way to mount this vertically. Returning the product for Fireside Universal Condensate Neutralizer FCN 30V which is specifically designed to be mounted vertically. Otherwise the Bangarang seems to be a good value.

Did what it claims!
I’m building a new house with an EcoFlo Coco septic system. I was a little concerned (probably more than I needed to be) about the fact that the only thing going down the drain was the condensate from the condensing furnace I put in.I tested the PH from the furnace drain and came up with a 5. I installed the BangaRang and now have a 7. I’m definitely pleased with this purchase. The hanging straps they included are convenient but definitely a little brittle so be careful when hanging.I added a schedule 40 PVC union (not included) on the inlet side of the neutralizer for easy removal when the time comes for new media. This kit also included two threaded male adapters to go from the neutralizer to standard 3/4” PVC and barbed fittings if you wanted to use vinyl tubing instead.

Works ok, but the wall holder is made cheaply ...
Works ok, but the wall holder is made cheaply. I suggest you use washers on the screws, or they will pull through the plastic when you try to remove the canister.

best value
After viewing all the options this seemed to be the best value. It was easy to unscrew the 1/2" ID screw in to 1/2" ID hose connection and install 1/2" ID screw in to 3/8" ID hose connection to meet my existing condition. One end unscrews to replace the neutralizer rocks after a heating season.

pH level not obtained upon first use
Update: Seller agreed to send me fresh neutralizer media, which I hope will solve my problem. Happy with the customer service. This (or others) are not fancy contraptions, so I don't see why I should be having this issue.Original review: I am positive I spec’d the right model for my high efficiency furnace. After a few days, the pH was 5.5 and today it was 5. Even on day 1 the pH was not above 6 as advertised. I think there is a problem with the limestone media. Would not recommend. Buy a name brand. I will have to replace the media in mine after barely a month.
