I think it's overpriced.
This was the first time I've tried Tahitian Vanilla extract.. I make Tahitian Vanilla candles and they smell like buttery caramel... From the description of this type of vanilla, I thought it would smell and taste like caramel, but it really doesn't.. I can't really tell much of a difference between this and pure vanilla extract. I used it in homemade yogurt and it ended up tasting bitter, so the next batch, I used less.. It's not bitter but I can't really taste the vanilla.. I also used it in some low carb cookies, but again, couldn't really taste a difference.. I'll use the three bottles I received but doubt I'd buy it again.. I'll just save a little money and buy regular pure vanilla extract from now on.

Great product - need a diff container
I only have to use a little bit of this vanilla (about half of the amt called for in the recipe) to get a deep, rich vanilla taste, but the bottle drips every time I pour out. A minor annoyance, but I have seen several people complain about it. Surely the manufacturer could redesign the bottle just a tad. This is the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5.

The best vanilla extract I've ever purchased
I must admit that I have paid top dollar for vanilla extract in the past; to feel like I was with the help of perfect ingredients; an accomplished cook. To be honest I've never been able to tell the difference between any of them UNTIL now. Usually when tasting my finished product I never tasted a hint of vanilla so I kept adding a little extra to try and up my results to utter fantastic, but nope, no real taste of vanilla period. I researched a few days before purchasing Totonac pure Tahitian vanilla extract. When the order arrived I took off the cap to check the aroma of it's contents. Smelled quite the same as other vanilla's so I figured it would be the same. I fixed some peanut butter cookies to try to see if I could tell a difference. I was more than pleasantly surprised. There was a hint of vanilla taste with the first few bites which made me very happy. Finally an Extract that delivers! I'm going to try their other extracts in the future but honestly this is a very high quality vanilla, even over the Extract from Williams Sonoma that I paid a fortune for.

Three Stars
Honestly; you cannot tell the difference from the Tahitian vanilla from the Madagascar Vanilla.

Tahitian Vanilla Extract
For years I used the stuff you just bought at the grocery store. I always felt it was "o.k.", until I was at a friend's house, and she was using a really good grade of vanilla, and I realized I wasn't limited to whatever the grocery store was selling. So I decided to see what Amazon had for sale, and came across this vanilla. My first purchase was the set Totonac has, with the three different vanillas. One was from Mexico, one from Madasgar and one from Tahitia. While they are all good, we all really liked the flavor this one gave to whatever I was baking. So, when I ran out of the set, I just purchased this one vanilla, since it was our favorite. The price is right, and you get 3 bottles, so I felt that while it is more than I would likely spend at the grocery store, I don't think it is a whole lot more, and we like it so much more! If you aren't sure which vanilla to buy, I think you might like this one!

terrible cough medicine taste
purchased this last week after reading the mostly positive reviews. well received it yesterday, and tried a little- just horrible, like cough medicine.never had that experience with other vanilla brands i've tried. don't know if it's the the tahitian vanilla(first time i tried it) or just bad product.

First purchase. I like it
I used this with Madagascar Vanilla by Nielsen Massey, the smell from my oven was divine. I've learned that experimenting with different vanilla mixes gives a better vanilla flavour than just one, although I was perfectly okay with my Madagascar vanilla before. First purchase

Great for baking
There seems to be a conflict over which vanilla is better, Mexican, Tahitian, Tongan etc etc, I have to say it will all obviously come down to personal taste and the application you're using it for. If I just want a vanilla taste in something I will always use Tahitian vanilla. I'm mostly using this as the main flavour in a dish so I have no need for notes of chocolate or caramel. I haven't found extract in this volume at this price elsewhere online. Since I don't drink extract plain I don't encounter the 'medicinal taste' others say it has. It's alcohol not some cheap imitation, without corn syrup or sugar it's going to taste bitter if you drink it neat.
