Chef Pals Turkey Thermometer

I forgot I'd already written a review and have to say I LOVE this thing even more, now that I realized:-it's magnetic, so sticks to the oven door-while you have the probe in the turkey INSIDE the oven!!! (Make sure probe is all the way inside, or I imagine it'll be off...) Safe up to 450F.I love this thermometer! I just used it for the first time, for chicken (indicates 165F). It came with two extra batteries in addition to what was inside. From what I'd read, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it worked exactly as described! There is an on/off in the back. I wonder if some people were using it incorrectly.If something strange happens, I'll update. For now, I love it!Additionally, I had purchased the cow. Will post on that as soon as I use it.

I ordered this for a friend, who had heard about a similar product. The similar product makes a noise when the correct temperature is reached, and I didn't realize that this thermometer doesn't have that feature. I will try to find the one she wanted; she will re-gift this one.

I have 1 got this 1 for a relative that had trouble cooking turkey. They were very happy with it so was everyone else the turkey was cooked

It's a cute and gimmicky toy. I didn't read the description well enough. There's no temperature reading. You insert the thermometer and the turkey makes a gobble noise when it's "done". I didn't trust it to time my turkey this year. My daughter thought is was very cute though.

I gvie the Chef Pals turkey thermometer a 5-star rating. I was very pleased with this item. It worked whether I was cooking a small turket breast or my large (24 pound) Thanksgiving turkey. Guests were very amused when the thermometer 'Gobbles'. Clean up is easy and the wire does not interfere with the oven door or oven temperature. I ordered several more and gave them as stocking stuffers this holiday season.Bon Appetite

Cute, nice gadget, but mine does not make the "GOBBLE" sound as indicated. I bought all four thermometers, and the chicken dosn't cluck. However, the pig does oink and the cow does moo. Two out of four is pretty bad.

The alarm that indicated when the turkey is done is pretty distinctive, but it was not done enough, although maybe I had the probe too close to the bone, but who knows?

This device is in the trash and will soon be gobbling in the dump. As soon as we inserted it into the bird, it begin to cackle and gobble nonstop, It was completely useless, and we were in a bit of a panic trying to figure out when to remove our turkey from the oven. Complete waste of time and money and completely untrustworthy.
