Llewellyn's 2017 Witches' Spell-A-Day Almanac: Holidays & Lore, Spells, Rituals & Meditations

I do not do resolutions, but this year I was incredibly interested in furthering my spiritual path. I am what you could call a 30 year dabbler in witchcraft, I know a little about a lot of the craft, but not a lot about any section, nor knew where I might have affinity. I've gone through and done a peek through this year, and some of the shortcuts of information given within the book. all is simple, useful, and informative. Only a few days in, the information presented has not only been a blast, practical spell use, but has also pointed me in other directions to slightly fill my knowledge in a midge at a time. I recommend fully, and imagine this will be an amazing year.

I am new to thinking of myself as a witch and bought this to get ideas and see what other people do. I'm more of a kitchen/hedge witch, but I've been expanding my craft lately. I gotta admit, I read this book more than I do any of the spells in it. For one thing, I often don't have the materials, and honestly, I'm lazy. What I like about this book is that it is very concise, but still contains a lot of information. Each day has a color and incense correspondence and a spell. Most spells are relatively simple.

Wonderful book. I purchase one every year. Even if you don't care about the spells, the folklore and information about world traditions is really interesting.

I feel that this book's symbol keys could have been organized better, but it's a great book. I think that this almanac is great for getting new ideas. I believe this book helps one keep track with such matters as when retrogrades are occuring and all holidays acrossed beliefs, which allows sensitivity to others. Overall, I'm happy with this good.

I enjoy these almanacs and find them to be a lot of fun. I enjoy the snippets of arcane knowledge and the illustrations scattered throughout.

I really love this book however theres quite a few days that will not apply to your day so itd be a waste to preform the spell. Still well worth the money i just wish ever spell would be very general

So intrigued by the 2016 version that I waited and waited for this one, and eventually decided to buy.I think many sellers seem to have a print on demand system in operation - not a problem which means that a lot of books paperbacks in particular now have a slightly rubberised finish to the cover. My concern is that although I know that this is an annual book, it is a reference book and from experience some these rubberised finishes degrade into a sticky mess. I've encountered this on some high-end cosmetic brand packaging and I'm concerned that this 'soft feel' cover may have a similar fate.Yes, it can be potentially solved by using library archiving plastic however I don't know how many will do that.The book itself is split into days, moon phases, supposedly houses but I am confused as I am not an expert but it simply looks as if everything seems to be locked into the 2nd-4th house for the whole year. That is possibly more my understanding than the book. Each day has some activity, meditation, spell, although some are really esoteric and odd e.g. where exactly will you get a ethically sourced elk's tooth in central England or in the UK for that matter?The book won't fit with everything that I do, it's interesting enough to dip into, and it's not something I would suggest is completely prescriptive i.e. many activities don't have to happen on the day specified and in the case of a couple this is actually mentioned.

Arrived late (every order I've ever ordered from wordery arrives after the delivery estimate dates) but the cheapest and a lovely book. Some spells are not exactly what I was expecting or hoping for (e.g.- April 29th dedicated to the hunt) which while symbolically adaptive isn't practical (anyone have an elk took lying around !?!) but still very happy with the purchase, beautiful book and a handy reference guide for moon phases etc
