A very effective and cheap way to protect your property
My car recently got broken into while parked on the street in front of my house. My other car and motor home in my driveway were not broken into at this time. I determined that the cheapest way to protect all my vehicles, garage and patio furniture was to install multiple units around my property all sending signals to one remote siren inside the house. The infrared units are being run on rechargeable 9 volt batteries and last about 1 month between charges. The in house alarm runs on three C cells and again I am using rechargeable batteries which last many months before recharging. My property is 125 ft long and these units have no problem sending signals that far even through my aluminum clad house. I do get the odd false alarm when a cat or skunk enters the area but have not had false alarms from anything else. I couldn't be happier with these alarms and I am currently running 7 alarms to protect my entire property and my car parked on the street. I turn them on when going to bed and the few false alarms I get are still much better than getting my property damaged or stolen.

Works as an inexpensive security device
I plan to order a second one of these soon for the driveway. We currently use the unit we own as an inexpensive security device. We live on 3.5 acres of land and my workshop is over 300 feet from the backdoor of the house. The area is rural, but you never know when someone is looking for a 5-fingered discount.Additionally, it enables my wife to know when I am out in the shop working. The sound of the alarm is loud enough to be heard through most of the main area of the house. One note: the motion sensor is not as quick to respond as those installed in homes with security systems, but fine for our use. It has been hot here, so there is an expected delay in the sensor. So far, the batteries have lasted several months. The outdoor sensor has been exposed to weeks of heat that has topped 108 degrees Fahrenheit without problem.Good news...it's much cooler now...

Worth reading.
This is my second one. The first lasted 4 years before the outdoor unit quit. 2 changes in this one. The spring on the negative end of the 3 C-cells is now too long, and the batteries must be forced in. The 3rd cell required a tool to seat it. Also the alarm volume is barely acceptable. HI is about half as loud as LO was in the older unit. LO in the new one is inaudible beyond 12 inches. Could be a problem limited to mine but I don't feel honored. It'll do.

Almost perfect
The only thing that is not so easy to deal with is finding the right place to mount this photo eye. I must have moved it 10 times because everything would set it off... leaves that move in the breeze, my cat, sunlight, shadows.... I have layered on tape to narrow the field of vision, I have moved it to a place that was not my first choice, but is the only one that works. The sunlight hitting it from the side still sets it off and is annoying, but, I could move it again I suppose. It transmits over a pretty fair distance, through walls/windows, and the chime is adjustable to low or loud. It does the job wonderfully once you find a good spot to hang it. If there were one thing to change on it's design, it would be to have a way to limit the distance the eye reaches.

Good product for the price
For the price, these are great. You need more than one since each one individually will sometimes not sound. I have three along my long driveway and one or more always sound.I do have a problem with false alarms in the evening when the sun shines directly into the detectors.

I'd like to see this model made available with select-able channels
Receiver takes 3 size C batteries. They have been in service for over a year without needing replacement. The Transmitter unit uses a standard 9v battery whose typical service life (depending on whether detected movement is frequent or rare) of about 3 months. When the voltage begins to go down, the receiver will go into a 3-beep pattern. I'd like to see this model made available with select-able channels, or a multi-channel receiver to alert you to two different alarm locations based on the tone

Work great, has nice range of distance
I love these monitors. I keep the sensor outside and the control part inside my house to let me know when someone or even animals are in my yard, carport etc. Good distance range.

Great for indoors but not outside
This works good for indoor movements. Unfortunately a sound sleeper like me doesn't wake up to the chimes. So I tried it in several locations outdoors and kept gatting false alarms. I'm not sure what causes the false alarms but suspect squirrels, cats or even the wind moving bush branches. It could also be that the sensor is very sensitive.
