Goodnight Beautiful: A Novel

A memorable thriller with a clever plotline!
Newlyweds Sam and Annie moved back to Sam's hometown to be closer to his dementia afflicted mother. When an opportunity of a lifetime arises, Sam opens a private practice as the town's psychologist. Sam listens to his client's secrets regularly, even while poorly managing his personal coverings. Still, what Sam doesn't know is that someone else is eavesdropping in on his sessions. One day, Sam goes to work and never makes it home to Annie. Were his secrets too hard to deal with, leaving him to disappear, or is there something ominous prowling behind closed doors?GOODNIGHT BEAUTIFUL is a brilliantly crafted thriller with a cleverish and enticing plotline. Written in three parts, Aimee Molloy has a knack for playing with her audience while leading me into a tangled maze of surprises. Each piece ended with a bombshell, willing you to keep going for answers! In addition to her high-grade content consistency, Aimee also presented a complete set of characters who propelled you to see them from different perspectives. As much as I admired Sam and Annie's marriage, these two personalities were quite complex. Sam came off likable, even when he didn't make the best decisions. Simultaneously, Annie was more of a hard nut to crack, yet still showed an impressive stance in strength. As much as I want to talk your ear off about this thriller, I have to stay clear of any spoilers discreetly. As a whole, GOODNIGHT BEAUTIFUL fascinated my thriller loving heart. Aimee beautifully weaved in and out of the novel's various sectors and still maintained the suspenseful flow throughout. I highly recommend this novel if you're seeking a memorable story with a copious amount of "what in the beep" moments. I will be adding Aimee to my auto-buy author list after reading this masterful piece of work!

Misery déjà vu
Didn’t like this book at all. I felt like it was a slow start and gives way to many Misery by Stephen King vibes! I gave it 2 stars only because the characters were developed well.
