LG G5 BCK-5100 OEM Extra Standard Battery & Charging Dock Cradle Charger Kit

Extremely unimpressed. This is my first week with this product. I did expect the useless cord that came with this product that is for some other device. Since I was looking for a backup battery for my LG G5 and I read other reviews I knew it came with that cord so I didn't ding it at all for that. I also didn't ding it for not coming with any cord to actually charge it with......as I also read that in other reviews. One must use their phone charger cord to charge it which means you can't charge this "and" your phone at the same time unless you have two cords. Stupid...but I didn't ding it for that since I knew it. Performance however is another issue all together. I thought it would be convenient to have a battery charger "and" a device to charge other phones, etc. I will admit it actually does work for a little while. I charged a phone for about two hours on it and it increased the charge in the phone by no more than 5%. It then apparently went dead and wouldn't charge it anymore. The most frustrating thing however is exactly how long it takes to charge a battery. I left a battery in this device for 24 hours and finally achieved a 99% charge!!! oh wow. LOL. Even at 24 hours it didn't get to 100%. Leaving it in for 12 hours will get you close to the 90% range or a little above. That is just stupid slow in my opinion. Better off charging the batteries in your phone where it takes 2 hours for a full charge then swapping them out. The battery that came with this product is exactly like my OEM battery and lasts exactly as long..........almost all day (I'm always on the phone). Nothing remarkable at all.

A well functioning slim back up option for your smartphone. The battery level indicator on the side of the device is useful to quickly see how much change remains in this backup battery without plugging the USB into a computer.There are a few minor issues with the product:The claim is that it is OEM though this can only be true if it is OEM for a Chinese market. The instructions are not in English.The package contains a micro USB cable. This is the wrong one for the device. This is a big oversight by the manufacturer and makes me doubt that it is truly OEM. You will need a USB Type-C (same one used to change your LG G5) or a Micro USB to USB Type-C adapter. I carry several of these small cross over adapters since we live in a micro USB world. The pain of being an early adopter!Overall it is a great product.

Just got this, would have given it 5 stars if something in the instruction (I think) manual would have been in English, it was all in Asian-I think Chinese. Its not rocket science but still...Also will try and come back after a few months to let you know how it stands up to use. Would be nice if they added a USB/C LG5 charging cable so you can use it to charge instead of the 2" old style USB charger for LG 4 and older phones/other devices

Does its job fairly well. been using it as a battery bank since I got rid of that phone. Nothing to write home about but it works.

The battery and cradle are genuine and they're just like the one I originally got with my LG G5 pre-order. The only odd thing is the little cord that comes with it. The cord is USB on one side, but the other side is a regular Android charger. So I guess that's if I need to use the cradle as a power source for a different Android?

This is a great battery. It is genuine, and works perfectly. Only difference between the battery that came with my LG G5 and this battery is that this one is a 2016 model compared to a 2017 model. Fast charging works perfectly, and the battery seems to hold more charge that the one that came with my phone. The cradle works as described, and can either charge the LG batteries or an external device through a USB port.

I love this product. It charges slower than my original rapid charger but I get a better charge from it. The manufacture doesn't claim this, but I have noticed that if I charge my battery using this rather than using the phone, it seems to recondition the battery. If my battery is not holding a charge as long as it used to, I charge it using this charger and the battery life improves.

This is best considered a spare or replacement battery for the LG G5 phone. As shipped, the supplied cable and case do not facilitate charging or connection to the G5, or its charger due to the micro USB connectors.

Had my G5 for nearly a year now and the battery is getting a little tired. Decided to purchase a new one and saw this. Didn't realise before just how good this kit is. For one(and most importantly for me) it's an original LG replacement battery. There's SO many cheap copies masquerading as the real deal. Secondly, the case for charging the battery also acts as a portable power pack. Then there's a case to hold the spare battery in. It's fantastic and absolutely worth the money. I would've paid £25 for a genuine battery on its own, so this represents great value. No brainer.

This is a genuine LG product, the charging case is well made with a satisfyingly positive feel to the opening and closing of its hinged cover and the battery itself has restored my much loved G5's reliability to as new levels again since I no longer find myself worrying about whether the phone will die before its day's work is done.One minor thing about the items in the box (not cause enough to drop a star in the rating as I shall explain further down the page) is that the short lead supplied has a micro USB rather than the G5's USB C connection at one end. It's not a problem in practice as I always have the correct lead to hand in the house or the car, plus the micro USB cable allows the charging case to be used as an external battery for other phone brands that don't use the reversible USB C, but the case itself, like the G5, has a USB C (and a full sized USB) connection so it's a versatile thing to have around.LG themselves (I rang them and asked..) have confirmed that the battery and case are genuine parts and that the micro USB lead in the package is indeed there for those who want to use the battery with another handset if the need arises.Buy with confidence.:-)

For power users out there. If you already own the G5 then you know the luxury of having a battery you can have access to. What the added bonus is, is knowing that the option to have access to that battery and having the freedom to be able to replace it with a fully charged one. If you are nowhere near a power source and you have the battery pack on your person fully charge and ready to go can be quite stress free. The option to quick change a battery is slowly becoming a luxury only us LG-G5 owners know and love so well. The look on peoples faces when you just pop one out and another in is priceless. The pack is easy to use, one USB port and a type C port, not rocket science. Three lights indicating the level of charge and that's it. Absolutely easy to tuck away in a bag, jacket or purse and no bigger than one of them mini iPhones. So, one on charge before leaving and the other in the phone fully charged is a power users dream. 0-100 just like that, real quick.

Being able to switch from 0% to 100% battery in 30 seconds is an incredible convenience, and this pack is much slimmer and lighter than most comparable battery banks. I can't see myself ever going back to a phone without a replaceable battery!UPDATE 2020 (3 years later): I did end up going back to a phone without a replaceable battery, mostly because they are no longer available on any flagship smartphones. This product lives on, however, as a backup power bank for emergencies.
