I bought two of these for travel. They both arrived with small cracks in the bottom plastic tray from weight put on top during transit or storage. If it doesn't break before it gets to you, it is likely to break sometime in the future during travel.That said, the plastic tray is unimportant as one is likely to use a better one in travel, and small cracks in the plastic tray don't impact use of this set too much.The important part is the rotating gaiwan. It works exactly as advertised, rotating completely if turned 360 degrees, and the filter is good. It's fun, looks great, and pours well.The only unexpected aspect of this design is that the first part of the pour is usually underinfused. The first water you pour into the body of the gaiwan goes quickly through the leaf and filter and into the outside shell, while the rest of the water sits in the chamber and infuses more heavily. Thus when you start pouring the tea it begins with weakly-infused tea. With the side of the included cups that could mean the first cup or even two might be well underinfused, so be sure to pour a little back and forth between cups instead of filling up one cup completely at a time.Overall, a worthwhile travel set and at a decent price!

As soon as this set came in, I unboxed it and put it to use. I LOVE it.The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the tray is so very shallow. The point of the tray in gong fu brewing is to catch the excess water. I know some gong fu sets use non-reservoir trays, but since this one is supposed to have a reservoir, it could be a bit deeper. However, I have a large reservoir tray already, so problem solved (I just won't use the one in the set).That said, however, I ultimately bought this for the 360° gaiwan (I find oolong teas tricky with a standard gaiwan because the water is so hot). The blue, patterned set was on sale for cheaper than the gaiwan by itself, so naturally I got the set. I'm actually glad I did. The cups are a bit larger and sturdier feeling than my other gong fu set, and I quickly realized I like that. The gaiwan itself is so simple to use. It's well balanced. It pours easily and smoothly. The strainer is deep enough to allow the leaves to unfurl, and there's something fascinating about being able to rotate the gaiwan completely around the strainer while the strainer stays upright.Not only an I pleased with my purchase, I'm quite excited about it.

For the low price, I was worried the quality would be less than the picture but they are exactly as pictured. Beautiful, high quality. Great gift for tea lovers. I actually bought this as a decoration for my living room so I can't speak to its travel capability but it works great at home.

Bag is on the cheap side but everything else is ok
