Silicone Baking Mat and Basting Brush Set, Half Size Non-Stick

I would have given it 5 stars except for one glaring quality control issue which has probably already been brought to your attention. That being; the Hanson Creek box which you sent the mat in lists 6 "Cautions", the second caution states: Do not put your mat in the dishwasher. This would be an excellent bit of advice were it not for the conflicting recommendation on the sheet which came with the mat in the box. Under the heading of "You'll Love These Benefits of Your Mat"....the 3rd "benefit" of the 4 listed states: So easy to clean-just use warm, soapy water.....or put in the dishwasher.....as you can see, these polar opposite statements about using or not using the dishwasher, calls into question the rest of the statements provided with your product. It would be appreciated if you would review the recommendations and precautions and let me know which are correct and which are not.....in the mean time I am NOT putting the mat in the dishwasher, but am hand-cleaning with warm soapy water.....

I've only used the mat several times and so far I like it for the most part. I like not having to use parchment paper as much, (although I still do for small things like 2 pieces of bacon etc). I've used the mat for cookies, and I love it for that and for frozen fries or fresh cut veggies. I use it to bake chicken (because instructions say you can) and it does well for that also.My only concern with the chicken is that even after washing the mat, it seems a bit more greasy than usual. I know it has that feel normally, but the chicken grease seems to adhere more even with a bit more gentle scrubbing. Maybe my imagination?;-) The mat does clean up nicely and saves me from scrubbing a pan. I was concerned about odors transferring from garlic, meat or spices, but that has not been the case. Still, I may just get another one for cookies only.

I do not usually write reviews; however, since I purchased this product off a review I read for making peanut brittle I had to write one to share my experience for those who bake. I have used this mat several times now for making different candy. The first time I used the mat was for Sunflower Brittle, for those of you that are unaware brittle is basically light corn syrup, sugar, and water boiled and then poured on a surface to cool and harden. With all of this sugar you would expect some type of sticking to the surface...NOT with this mat. It came off without any mess or sticking! The clean up was non existent, just wipe it with a wet cloth and done!!!!! I am extremely amazed by the product and have decided to purchase more as gifts for bakers in the family during the holidays, Thank you for the product and super service. Hanson Creek even provides you with cooking tips after the purchase! The customer service is top notch.Buy one and I assure you that you will not be disappointed!

Silicone is amazing stuff and this mat is a prime example. I use it mostly to cook pizzas: put the pizza dough on the mat, place the mat on the hot pizza stone in the oven. I know, I don't need the mat when I have the stone, BUT ... I haven't yet got another way to get the dough onto the stone (I don't have a pizza peel) and this works great. Also, I use the silicone mat for stuff like baking potatoes and there is virtually NO cleanup needed. Maybe wipe with a damp cloth. For somewhat messier baking, just a quick rinse or a swipe with a sponge and you're done. Never scrub away at a brown, sticky cookie sheet again! If you bake at all, you need one of these. Maybe two.

I couldn't wait to get my baking mat. I have used parchment paper for my Christmas cookies for years and always hoped I'd find something better. And I really did! The Hanson Creek Professional Grade Silicone Baking Mat is just what I need for my fruit and nut cookies. They baked evenly, completely, and looked beautiful. I was amazed because they always cooked unevenly with parchment paper, even burning in places.I'm going to try some more cookies for New Year's. I can't wait to use the silicone baking mat again. It washed easily with Dawn and warm water.I also downloaded the Bonus Manual and plan to try some of the recipes - especially the Neimann Marcus cookies!

This mat has proved to be very useful. I have a tile counter, and it doesn't slip at all unless there is water on the counter. The one time I used it for a pie crust, the crust kept tearing--but, any number of variables impacted the crust itself. I was in a hurry, using a new recipe, using a new rolling pin, and I was in a very hot kitchen. As long as I had a little flour on the mat to keep the crust dusted, it went just fine. Haven't baked with it yet--we'll try cookies next!

I just started baking oatmeal cookies for first try on mat. It is really nice and cookies came out just right. I still needed a cookie sheet though to use it. My regular cookie sheet works as well, however, if it were scratched or not in good condition the mat is a perfect placement on top of cookie sheet. I am happy with it; so far have only used it twice as far as long term i feel it will last a long time with the easy care instructions followed. I did not receive the basting brush which in my order i don't remember it being offered.

This is my second purchase of a Hanson Creek silicone baking mat. I have owned several brands. First, if you cook, you should own one of these. No pan cleanup is awesome. They fit your baking pan perfectly and are great with baking everything from cookies and asparagus, Brussels sprouts and on and on. What makes Hanson so great is their quality. I cook some things at high heat (over 400) with a convection oven. Other mats discolor or burn; not Hanson. It is solid, dependable and durable. You will love it.
