I have a possible rotator cuff tear , have had for over 10 years . Ankle impingement with daily pain - level of pain was at a10 . Ready to get more cortisone injections. I've been taking astaxanthin for about six months. I started with a different product that was 3mg and after it ran out I switched to this Fettle 10mg dose. I take one in the morning with breakfast, six days a week. As other reviewers have noticed, it seems to provide a natural protectant quality to the skin. I'm of Scandinavian descent with light skin, and have noticed my propensity to burn in the sun was getting worse with age for some reason. Not anymore! Now I rarely use sunscreen. My skin can get a little pink but there's no pain and it turns into a nice tan in less than a day. In the last year I've also added a lot of vitamins and minerals to my diet, so there might be a synergistic effect, but I think most of it is due to the astaxanthin.The only negative to this product is the use of soybean oil as an excipient. I realize it's a small amount of oil, but I wish they would use a more healthful oil such as coconut or palm.I wish everyone good health!

Have been taking this particular brand for a few months - pleased with the qualityand price. Astaxanthin's properties are very powerful in general, so this being a Non-GMOproduct appears to deliver the expected potency.

It's time to take a look, fettle botanicals, and fix your label. I'd rather not have to go back to the product page on amazon to see what the claim for mg was for this product. Otherwise, it's too early to know if it's helping me. I'll update as time goes by.

I used to sunburn. I don't, since taking astaxanthin every day. At "worst," my skin will get a little pink if I'm out in the hot sun for a long time without a shirt. In the old days, I would have had severe burns that made it difficult to sleep. I've never liked the idea of slathering on a carcinogenic sunscreen that blocks both good and bad rays from the sun; so I'll go on taking this instead. I haven't burned in years. (Note: you may have to take it every day for a month, to get this level of protection.)My one caveat about this brand is that they contain a little soy oil. This bothers me, but not terribly, partly because they promise it's non-GMO, and partly because the capsules are so tiny, there can't be much soy oil in one. For best results, I would recommend taking it with a couple of capsules of krill oil. Oh, and, if you're a dude who wants a boost to your testosterone, try taking one or two of these for a week or two along with some saw palmetto. It makes a difference you'll notice.

I reorder this regularly. It works. I don't know what all it does for me but I know that my resistance to sunburn is enhanced. I used to burn easily. I'd go out to work in the yard early in the day and get carried away and be out there longer than I planned and, yes, no sunscreen. I'd be burnt. Since taking this product I haven't had a sunburn. Not one. My nails are also much healthier. I have to credit this because that's the only change made. I also have not been sick this entire winter and I do not get a flu shot. I am a believer in D3 so between these two supplements I'm very healthy and happy.

I have been taking astaxanthin for a couple of years because I spend a lot of time in the sun. I experience extremely dry and hot conditions where sunburn and dehydration are an ever-present concern. My anecdotal experience is that taking astaxanthin tends to lower my susceptibility to both sunburn and the resulting dehydration. I used to take the 12mg pills and I'm realizing now that the 10mg is a lot more cost effective for some reason. I switched over and if there is a difference between 12mg and 10mg I can't tell!
