Very interesting and informative
This book is aimed at those who are looking to create a consistent money flow. It is a practical guide that will help readers generate a passive but abundant income every month, in a consistent and safe way. Moreover, it explains why this method is less risky and will work under all market conditions, leaving aside the uncertainty and volatility of the stock market. Certainly, learning how to invest intelligently will change the reader’s life. “Private Money Lending: Learn how to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream” is a book written by Gustavo J. Gomez. It is a middle-length book that has four hundred pages full of interesting and useful information. Once I started reading, it was difficult to put it down because it opened my mind and generated new ideas. I found out about other areas of investing which I had no idea of their existence. I found this book to be utterly complete and very well researched; It shows that the author did a great job researching as he unveils some strategies and secrets that will help any investor generate a great income. It is well and clearly written; I thought that it was going to be a complicated read but I was wrong. The author has a very good writing style that is easy to understand and follow; he uses a conversational style to explain what the investor should do and why. It is aimed at any type of public - those who know about investing and those who are about to start. It is a sincere and enlightening read that will help those who are about to retire and want to know what to do with the money to have safe earnings. As the author does not try to sell something and it shows he is just telling what he knows and researched this book gains trust towards the investment method and fidelity. This book is one to have always with you and re read it as I believe that this will unfold new ideas and will inspire the readers in different ways. I am giving it five stars out of five because it is informative, well and friendly written and, best of all, will help people generate the earnings wanted. I will surely recommend reading Private Money Lending.

Your first must read for private lending!
Financial advice is always a tricky topic, because there is virtually a non-existent vocabulary to those who are not versed in that sphere. Luckily, Gustavo Gomez has managed to take a different approach and has been able to unpack the investing world of private mortage lending in his book, PRIVATE MONEY LENDING. He has clearly done the research into what sort of know how it takes in this area, despite the often tumultuous state this area of investing has been in over the last couple decades. This is also incorporated into understanding how the Federal Reserve tampers with this market in order to help the real estate market recover and hopefully sustain growth in the long term. What is interesting to know is how Gomez sees how far reaching this private mortgage lending is. It ranges up to low yield type investments, like CDs or bonds, up into other more fluid stock market transactions. While retaining some of this more “Wall Street” know how, Gomez never lets the reader stray too far into the weeds without guiding them back to his various lessons. This is also to reinforce how business owners have to be better informed in the choices that they are making, so that they will still have a fallback plan in the future. Considering how our economics are only becoming more complicated, Gomez’s book is a welcome haven among all the chaos. And even though the majority of the book is about investing, Gomez weaves in tips about saving and spending, which is another plus, since this is very practical and concrete. The various scenarios and examples he gives are engaging and will keep the reader pulled along for most of the book, as long as they are willing to commit to such a topic. All in all a great introduction into investing, so that anyone can get their bearings when it comes to this at times intimidating product. It is a refreshing book for a topic that is often too dry to even begin.

Useful But...
Although prospective retirees are often encouraged to consider buying stocks as part of their investment portfolios, these items have a volatile market value. Stock also have nothing tangible to back up their worth if the company in question fails. Therefore, the author of this book sought to find a high interest, low risk source of passive income that would be suitable for senior citizens. In keeping with this theme, the text covers the pros and cons of a wide variety of investments before focusing solely on private mortgage lending. The last 15% of the book contains supplementary information and a glossary of terms, so it’s not as long as readers might think. It’s still conceptually quite dense and one might have to read the text multiple times before they truly understand the topics involved. The book needed a bit more editing. It can be wordy and is very redundant on certain issues. There are also a few unnecessary explanations for common terms and concepts (white collar, conflict of interest, caveat emptor, etc.) mentioned in the text.On the other hand, several sections were difficult to understand because they either contained large excerpts from legal documents or they were filled with industry specific terminology. These could be summarized or otherwise made more readable. (I also struggled with the numerical data at times but I'm not good with numbers.)Private Money Lending would nonetheless make a very good reference book for students and/or business people who are studying these topics in depth. But it may not hold the attention of someone with a causal interest in the subject for long periods of time. In fact, I really struggled to get through the section on the nuances of the Dodd-Frank Act.On a purely personal note, I dislike Kindle books that tell me to highlight sections because that should be my choice. The random markings alone make the text hard to read. Why would I make the problem even worse?Overall, it’s a useful book but it may not interest everyone.

Timely, informative, and very well written.
Private Money Lending by Gustavo J. Gomez is a financial/investment book designed to guide readers through the often-turbulent path of generating passive income in today’s volatile market. Working towards making that path smoother, the aim of the book is to ensure that every choice you make for a better financial future, especially that for retirement age, is a well-made one - and also useful right now. With an emphasis on less risk and ultimately toward those more significant of investment returns, Private Money Lending offers practical advice on how to consistently work at generating a passive income stream to stand you in good stead both now and in the future. This is a most practical of books with advice, guidance, and indeed techniques that can be taken and applied to many a situation straight away.Professionally written, it is evident that Gustavo knows exactly what he’s talking about. Private Money reads like a well-researched and in-depth guide which accommodates all readers, regardless of where they currently are with their finances. However, though it is in places complex as a subject matter, Gustavo handles the manner of the subject extremely well. This means though some areas may be new to the reader, they are explained in a way that the reader can grasp without losing any of its importance. Ultimately, Gustavo doesn’t preach but provides an overview of each method he presents.Furthermore, and perhaps why I was able to connect with this book so well was the layout of each chapter. After offering evidence of potential routes, Gustavo then proceeds to break them up into sections. This means he provides an explanation of each method while then showcasing both advantages and potential disadvantages of each one. He also moves on to explain the difference between the many options discussed, allowing you to get a more precise overview of which method could perhaps suit your individual circumstances best.As well as potential investors, I believe this book would make an ideal choice for anyone interested in business and financial matters, especially those business students. From minimizing risk to making investments and stressing the legal aspects of such decisions, chapter two could potentially be used as a standalone, with some strong definitions and clear explanations here.Private Money Lending showcases a lot of hard work in its research and highlights much practical knowledge in its subject matter. Even if you aren’t considering investing as such just yet, I’d thoroughly recommend keeping a copy of this on your bookshelf to refer to, should you ever come to consider making an income from potential investing.

Highly Recommended
This book is an extremely comprehensive overview of the opportunities and benefits associated with private money lending. This is an informative and educational read, and although it is occasionally hard work to get through, it is very much aimed (for the most part) at those who lack previous understanding of investment. As such, I would highly recommend it to anyone considering entering into investments as described in the book, but anyone with any level of experience will likely be familiar with much of the information already. The book is well organised and it is easy to flick between chapters and topics to find the most relevant information, and it is clearly written and easy to understand.

Informative and Easy to Read
Investing is a complicated thought and process for those who are unaware of how the financial world works. If you are interested in learning how to invest or how to boost your current investment portfolio you won’t go wrong picking up a copy of Private Money Lending by Gustavo J. Gomez. This review is based on the second edition of the book. This is not light reading and should be approached as such. It’s also not a ‘quick-rich’ type of book either. This is a work that is for those who honestly want to learn and take their time in understanding how investing works. The only really drawbacks to this particular book are the fact that the author offers American specific tips and insights into investing and this is not translatable to other areas of the world. Keeping that in mind, however, readers will still find a wealth of knowledge. While some of the particulars might not be relevant to a reader from the U.K. or Canada the base information and guidelines that are presented will still be useful. Don’t be discouraged by the volume of pages in this book; it still reads quite well. It is laid out easily for beginners and does its due diligence introducing jargon, terms, and subjects that are essential for understanding this topic.Gomez takes care not to offer a mythical view of private investing. It’s not all easy-going and there are risks involved. He lays these out in his book as well, which goes a long way to inform readers of all possibilities when considering this type of investment. This demonstrates the caliber of Gomez’s character and that he only has the best interests of readers at heart; he’s taking responsibility for the fact that not everyone is successful in their investments and wants to ensure readers understand the risks. If you are interested in the investing world, specifically the realm of private investing, Private Money Lending by Gustavo J. Gomez is a must-read. This book is useful for beginners and professionals alike. The tips, strategies, information and guidelines that are all housed within the pages are beneficial for all. You don’t have to be a professional investor and can take comfort in the fact that the writing in this book is friendly to those without a business background. However, you must keep in mind that this book is made for an American audience and therefore the information in it may not be specific enough for other countries. It’s still worth a read, however.

very informative
Private Money Lending is a great book to have as a go-to for everything private investment related, specifically private mortgage investing. It’s a good read for those who are unfamiliar with the investment industry and also for those who are already in the business. I would even call it a handbook, because it’s full of useful tips and tricks.I do find that this is definitely more of a study than a light read, as it clearly states in the introduction. The first few pages do make the book seem quite word-y as well but don’t let that put you off – it’s actually really well structured. This book is written in a way that eases you into the study, by introducing all kinds of investment jargon and subjects. The flow of it makes it easy for beginners to read, and also easy to navigate through if you need to jump back and forth between chapters and subheadings. The book makes a lot of US specific references to ways of investing and the legalities behind private money lending. It does also explain the whole process in a way that allows anybody to understand, globally, not just specifically the US. It literally goes into detail about every single thing, from the difference in liquid and illiquid assets, explanations of uncertainty of stock markets, different types of accounts , funds, how to work crowd funding, even. It honestly just gives a broad but decent understanding of investment finance in general. One of my favourite parts of the book is the very easy to decipher formulas that would be great tools for a lot of questions you may have later down the track.Overall, I highly recommend Gomez’s work as something to grab! It’s super handy and a great reference to anything private money lending related.

Thorough, well researched, with a great glossary
This is the second book I have read by Gomez, and it is just as detailed and well done as the previous even though they are completely different topics. He has done a remarkable job of breaking down Private Mortgage Investing in a way that makes it understandable for an absolute novice (like me) with a minimal ammount of investment experience. The glossary at the end is a fantastic edition and incredibly useful. As a Canadian there were some parts that weren't directly useful because our laws are different but overall a great read.
