TrendyDigital WaterGuard Plus Waterproof Case with Padding for Kindle 3 (Third Generation Kindle, Kindle Wi-Fi, or Kindle 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display), and Kindle Fire Android Tablet (Purple)

I bought my WaterGuard case earlier this summer, when it became clear that I wasn't able (i.e. didn't want) to leave my Kindle at home when I went to the pool. At first, I was a little reluctant to spend that much on what I thought was essentially a heavy-duty freezer bag, but after watching some of the product videos I realized how clever and solid the design was. I had also planned a week-long trip to the beach later in the summer and figured that I would be unhappy without beach reading, and even unhappier if I damaged my Kindle because I wasn't willing to spend $20. I was also sold on the layer of padding, which would give a bit of protection.To make a long story short, the WaterGuard case did everything it was supposed to. After watching the video on how to operate the power switch on the non-padded version, I soon got the hang of how to do it with the padded one and found it to be very little trouble to manage. I also found it easy to get the Kindle in and out of the case (this is important because I read with my Kindle every night using a cover with a built-in reading light, so leaving it in the waterproof case even if I'm going right back to the pool the next morning isn't an option). At first I thought I wouldn't like the strap and considered taking it off, but I soon realized how handy it was, especially when I was at the beach and needed to carry my chair down to the waterline for reading.Speaking of the beach... the WaterGuard case let me read with my Kindle on the beach, and not a speck of sand or drop of water got in, even when I sat practically in the surf. I did have to regularly wipe the accumulated salt spray off the plastic so I could read through it, but the Kindle itself stayed clean and dry. Despite getting sand on the outside of the case several times, there wasn't any noticeable scratching or scuffing of the plastic after I carefully dusted it off.So, while the case did not go through the ultimate test of being dropped in the ocean, it has been smeared with ice cream and sand, and liberally sprayed with water. I feel that it has done its job and been well, well worth every penny spent. I routinely recommend the WaterGuard to everyone I know who owns a Kindle, and would do the same here.

These are the best!! I have had no problems with these covers & I have had them in the ocean & the pool. They float if you drop them. I also use this almost every night in the bathtub. I have used this with my kindle & my fire with no issues. I'm giving this 4 stars because I have to buy a new one every summer because the plastic strips that "ziplock" the kindle in, break off. Maybe from so much use but it's still frustrating. I've been using these for about 5 years & swim frequently during the summer in a private pool.

I ordered this for my vacation as I received a kindle for Christmas. Last year on vacation my book fell into the pool and I had to wait until it was dry to try and read it again. I didn't want to make the same mistake this year with a higher priced book (kindle). So I searched on line to find something I could use. What Best Buy recommended was no longer available. People had mention that this product was like using two zip lock bags. I did not that to be true. I was also able to use the power button as it left me with enough room to wiggle it around. It did float. I did think it was a little pricey for the product but it kept my kindle safe.

I love love love this. I will say right off I have not been brave enough to try this around water. I did take it to beach and use it to keep sand out - but haven't ventured into the waves with it.My favorite place to use this is on the back of my husband's motorcycle. This is best device ever. I can read without fear of dropping anything. Sure the wind occasionally bops my hub in the back of the head with this, but that is way better than when I fall asleep and head flies forward clonking him with my helmet.Had a rainstorm and it didn't matter, it was great.

I bought this last year before we went on vacation. Prior to leaving I did the paper towel test under the water for 10 minutes in our pool and had no issues so I felt pretty comfortable using this on the lake. It worked out well for the week of vacation and I plan on using it again this year. I was able to see the text and use the buttons without any issues. My only complaint would be I could not put the kindle in the case without taking it out of it's cover first but I wouldn't knock it down because of that. Great product!

This case is the perfect accessory for my Kindle to allow me to read at the beach and in the bathtub. It keeps the sand and surf from damaging the device...and the strap is great to prevent a large wave from sweeping it out of my hands (like the fate of my sunglasses) since I like to sit in my chair in the water and read. I actually dropped the case and it was entirely submerged in water with no penetration! The double zipper and foldover double snap closure gives complete protection. The plastic is extremely thick and will not tear. The padding is a nice benefit to add further protection from bumping around. The only downside to this case it the difficulty sliding the power switch on the device while in the case...I'm always worried I'm going to puncture the plastic but I think it's thick enough that it won't be a problem. I have been extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend this case.

This protective case is so awesome. I love to read in the bathtub, so this is a necessity for me. This is actually the second one i have had, because the first one started to tear after about a year of lots of use. Admittedly, i'm too rough with things, so i won't blame the tearing on the cover. If you like to read in the tub or at the beach or near the pool, this is a must!

Bought for a holiday in the sun and was impressed with the quality of the case. Double seals with fold down and clip in place waterproofing. Padded on the back so feels protected. Is a little awkward to turn on the kindle at first, but you soon get the hang of it. Only negative is that it is an ugly wee thing, but I can't imagine how you could have this much protection without the chunkiness. I didn't use the strap, but seems sturdy enough.Overall I was delighted and read 14 books on the beach/sun lounger/ verandah without a single concern for my beloved kindle. Can't imagine what salt, sand and suntan lotion would do to it. Also meant I could take an extra 10 kg of clothes, rather than books.

Seems to be largely water-resistant... he phrased carefully....The rigidity of the product which caused me problems at the start is no longer much of an issue I am delighted to be able to say ... but ...the sides of the clip seals have split and I am becoming less and less confident that water will be kept out.On the positive side - it works just as well with my touch Kindle as it did with my original Kindle.

everything i needed.i have had it for about a year now and the only problem i had was turning it on while it was in there but i got used to it and found if i push the kidnle up i can turn it on and off.the openinng part did rip but i was very rough with it to be honest and it doesnt make any difference to how good it works.AMAZINGi love it

brilliant for holidays and can be kept in the case for protection and still be able to read clearly

This was used on a 5 week sailing trip. Kept my kindle dry. I didn't find it too difficult to use on-off slider as other reviews noted but you do have to move the kindle up slightly in the pouch to get to it.
