Turbot makes some nice keyboards
Disclosing from go, this item was received as a sample for either a reduced cost or for free. If this is an issue in any way, please skip the review, but note my review history and the varying scores items get as well. This item was given a 14-day testing period, and was utilized both as a gaming item AND as something I took to the office so I could hammer at the keys. It is interesting, but I have become quite the fan of the mechanical keyboard 'click' over the last few years, to the point that tasks do not feel the same if I used something standard or with reinforced keys at work. This is also my third Turbot keyboard to try out, and I have to say that the performance has been solid. I say that as someone who games, too, and that uses this type of design in my workplace, perhaps to the dismay of those who listen to that satisfying 'click,' but to my continual satisfaction. When I say gaming, I tend to gravitate toward horror-related themes, bullet hells, and the like. I am not a huge FPS or multiplayer, but I have put in time on Doom a lot lately, plus some COD and Overwatch, plus I tend to gravitate toward some staple titles like The Forest (I'm addicted to building there), The Long Dark, Enter the Gungeon, timekillers like Ultratron, Iron Fisticles, and much, much more. I note that because you have commentary on gaming uses, but not gamer commentary. I also work, doing person-on-person and computer-related, office-oriented items that involve database and SQL work, and I play around with Lightroom and other programs, to give you an idea of other, daily uses. Now, on that, I want to note the 'why' for a mechanical keyboard and what you are looking for these days, because there are loads of 'mechanical-like' and other claims out there. Those can be useful depending on what you do, but they use either basic or reinforced springs. With a mechanical, you are using switches, and this helps because of expedience, because of pressure required, and because of wear. It is more complicated than this, but basically you are using a switch to relay commends from your keyboard to your computer instead of a key being depressed all the way. This adds speed to the process, which is why gamers use it, and it adds an effortless approach, which is why people in other professions or at home also use it. They last longer, wear down less quickly, and are made to withstand the constant pressure people who stay on them for hours adds. They also respond with a 'click' sound when the button is depressed, and as I said earlier, it is addictive. With Turbot, you have multiple designs ranging form the 'no frills, no lighting' types, to the larger keyboards. I had been burned out on all the 'look at my LED' designs and started with a 'no frills,' and was happier with it for a while. The last Turbot got me back to it with their lighting approach, however, and this one got me with the shell it utilizes and its resistance to spills/damage. Unlike with the 'it lights up' models, you have lighting modes that accent gaming. Here, for example, you have specific lighting modes, which come as follows: (I did not copy these from a product description, so there may be missed keys, so forgive any mistakes here)FN + 1 lights up a FPS mode, with ESC, A, S,D, W, motion keys lighting.FN + 2 lights up a CF gaming mode, with A,S,D, left control, left shift, alt, space, R,G,Q,E,B,1,2,3,4,5,tab,F1,F2,F3,home,end,pgUp,pgDown,PrtSc.FN+3 lights up COD gaming mode, for Q,W,E,R,T,A,S,D,F,G,C,V,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,left control, left shirt.FN + 4 lights up RTS mode, with Q,W,E,R,A,S,D,G,X,Z,F,K,L,H,M,N,U,Y,T,P,Space,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,left control, left shift, left AltFN + 5 lights up LOL mode, with Q,W,E,R,D,G,F,B,V,left control, left alt, tab, space, ~,1,2,3,4,5,6,escFN + 6 light sup CAR mode, with, A,S,D,W,R, up, down, left control, left shift, ,left alt.FN + 7 light up NBA mode, with A,F,S,W,R,E,space,up, down, left, right, Z,X,C,V,1,2,3,4, left shift, left control, control, left altFN + 8 lights up LOl gaming mode, with 1,2,3,4,5,6,Q,W,E,R,D,F,BAnother thing you have is nicely sealed keys, which have taken a hammering I might add. I still seal mine anyhow (I started doing that a while back), but you can tell about wear on models after a couple of weeks if there are going to be issues. With this setup, everything is clearly marked and you do not have any of that wearing down.Added is the fact that this has waterproofing, so if you happen to be in the middle of a gaming blitz and take a little Jolt or Dew to the keys, it is not going to destroy it. I poured water on it to test it - I like doing stuff like that on testing items - and it was interesting how the draining profile works and how the metallic outer setup actually shrugged off the mess. I personally appreciate that quite a bit, and I appreciate the fact that I could remove keys and clean up things, which I did not have the foresight to think about before testing it.It DOES work with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10; I use all these systems in my daily professional and personal life, and am pleased to note that this is correct.Additionally, Turbot has been very responsive with questions. You see them respond to reviews asking things, and they have been responsive when I have mailed them. this makes me feel pretty good about using their devices, which says a lot these days.

Well built Turbot gaming keyboard thats a plug and play device. Very sturdy
The media could not be loaded. I forgot what a real gaming keyboard was until I got this Turbot 104-key anti-ghosting USB wired one. It's a plug and play device. No additional software to load. Runs on all the windows platforms. So, you can use this right out of the box. This keyboard has an excellent response time for your gaming or computer needs. It's made sturdy with a aluminum alloy backing that makes this a solidly built keyboard- Has rubber feet as to not scratch your desk. I really like that. The keys give a distinctive click so you know you have engaged them. It's ergonomically designed with 9 stunning multi-color LED back lit patterns and 8 game lighting modes. Waterproof as well. And it has a 45 day money back with a 18-month warranty. Also, the keys are non-fading. It's designed for gaming but i've been using it for all my computer typing this week and love it. I actually ordered a new desktop to compliment this Turbot keyboard. I wanted to get back into my full gaming mode life for reliefing a bit of stress in my life. I play a lot of action games and this has helped me beat the bad guys. You need to go to Turbots listing above and check out all the other great features to this gaming keyboard. They have much more information then I can write into this review.****I did receive this awesome Turbot keyboard FREE for my honest, clearly stated, unbiased review****

As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. What we really have here is a budget mechanical keyboard that has zero LED customization options, a less than ideal ergonomic feel, and sub-par manufacturing. The device is plug and play, which is nice, and the bottom of keyboard has rubberized sections that prevent sliding which I also liked. However, upon receiving the device, I plugged in the keyboard and the "n" key seemed to be stuck or short circuited as it would insert "n" randomly into whatever I was typing. I unplugged and tried to hook it up to a different computer and there was no difference. Annoyed and disappointed, I am sending this crap back.
