Should have bought this product sooner!
Great Product. I have a 4lb. Yorkie that thinks he's Houdini and will always find a way to escape, even through a rabbit hole. I tried this product reluctantly and my dog was unhappy the first two days but has gotten used to putting it on when he goes out. No he doesn't try to play the escape artist any longer. It has only been 1 week and he's a lot happier and I'm less frustrated not having to chase him. I use the vibration mode instead of the shock on the collar and that is enough to stop him dead in his tracks. The first few times I used the shock on level one (this collar goes from level 1-100) and that also worked and wasn't too strong. He soon found that if he didn't stop with the vibrate mode that he would then get a small shock. After 1-week life has changed for the better for both of us, he can still explore the backyard (while I'm outside with him) and I don't have to worry about him getting out and getting hit by a car.

Works for me and Ruckus
This collar has helped immensely with my stubborn, bull headed Bluetick Coonhound. She was so fixated on my cats. Verbal commands just went over her head. Using the collar with a verbal command to Leave it. If she listened NO vibration, if not she gets vibration. Note I use the vibration @ #2 setting. I used the static shock @ #1 only twice in her training to get her attention. I would compare the #1 shock to putting your tongue on a 9 volt battery. That was all she needed and now needs only vibration as her warning. You must use a verbal command before using shock feature or vibration. I would give vibration which would make her stop bad behavior and then praise and treat for walking away saying Good, Leave it or whatever command I gave at the time. She has for the most part started responding to my commands now so rarely do I need to put collar on. This is a great training tool when dealing with a dog whose breed is notorious for being on the stubborn side. Only problem I had was she scratches at collars on her neck so one of the plastic collars covering the metal points came off and luckily i found it.

75% Improvement but not what I really needed
Ok. First off, this was delivered super fast, nicely packaged and as promised. I got this for my 10 month old dog that barks and screeches at every stranger it sees, at anyone coming in the door and often for no apparent reason at all. Other training methods were not working so I thought I'd give this a try. I've never used one before. The instructions were decent but honestly it took me about a week to figure out the prong attachments and which ones would work best for my dog. Trial and error, turns out the large ones work best even though my dog is small because she has longer hair and the collar was too big for her. I accidentally zapped her at level 80 because I hadn't adjusted the level after switching from small prongs to large prongs. Turns out the small prongs weren't making correct contact with her neck hence the higher level was needed, but once I got the collar jimmy rigged to be small enough and the large prongs on, only level 7 was ultimately needed. Imagine how sad and guilty I was for zapping her at 80!!! Poor baby. I learned my lesson more than she did.I've had this dog collar now for a couple of months and its starting to show its wear. The catch clip is breaking and soon won't clip on at all. But that's probably more owed to user neglect than product quality. My dog is a schnauzer whippet mix and barely weighs 15 lbs, so I'd keep this in mind when ordering for your dog, although it is adjustable it's probably better suited for large dogs.I'd like to say it's cured her of her horrible barking but I can only say that it has helped to reduce the duration of her barking and maybe the frequency and severity. I use the zap for barking and the vibration when I want her to come to me and that function probably works the best. Level 50 for vibration. It also is showing signs of breaking down as now it's more of a rattle than the vibration it started out as.The control buttons are too confusing. What should be the"zap" button is the switch feature button. I don't use the light or the beep function at all. Also the button to switch between multiple dog collars is too prominent as I don't need that feature at all, but for those who do it's probably in the perfect spot. Once I figured out how to work the control it helped but honestly still at this time I'm having to think about which button to press so im not just switching features but actually zapping her, and by the time I get the remote, figure out which button to press after making sure it's on the correct feature it seems pointless to zap her, which defeats the purpose. I wish I had found a collar that senses the dogs bark and zaps her automatically without my involvement. But maybe I'll start using this as more of a training tool for tricks instead. Vibration for sitting with a treat or something without the zap at all?? However, don't let this deter you. It is not a bad product, just not exactly what I needed as it turns out, but maybe it was since it has helped her behavior by at least 75%, which aren't horrible odds.Hope this helps.

Great for the money
Can't be beat for the money. I'm not sure about the range, but around the house it doesn't seem to have any problem with that. When I first put it on and use it, I have to push the button several times to get it to work, after that it works just fine. The shock is really mild when set under 20. I had to set it at 40 to get my dog to pay any attention to it. It charges via usb port, but the indicator light doesn't tell you when it is fully charged so you have to guess at it. You can only charge one item at a time because it comes with only one charge cord. The product seems to be of good quality. I don't regret buying it, and will highly recommend it.

Great for the price!
Works great! Amazing for the price! I've spent $170. for one that didn't work near as well. The charging part is a bit inconvenient though since you can't charge both the collar and remote at the same time and there is no way to tell how low the battery is. The charging port is also under the collar strap requiring you to pull the strap away from the unit to re-charge. Not a huge thing but a bit inconvenient. The other thing I don't care for is the remote defaults back to mode after not using it for awhile so you have to press 2 buttons before you can transmit the shock - sometimes that extra step give the dog enough time to get away! Again, for the price I'm pretty happy.

*Update
Previous Post: It died after a few months, and won't take a charge now. I can't find a way to contact the company, since my collar is still under warranty...*UPDATE: The company contacted me prior to my negative review, mailing me a new device. I'm very pleased with the customer service but I wish it was easier to contact them directly with any product issues. (Hence the 4 stars).
