I am 5'9" medium build and this is perfect for me. I use a small flat pillow for my knees but this takes the pressure off of my knees by resting most of my weight upon the bench. I first kneel with the bench behind my feet and then pull it up. It takes the pressure off of my knees perfectly. I think if you're feet are 10's or higher, you would have to lift it up over feet to position it over your calves. Recommend they have a larger model if you are in that situation. I did make one modification. On the bottom side of the legs, it's finished wood, which allows it to gradually slip backwards if you are on a carpeted surface. I purchased some anti slip tape and attached it to the bottom of the legs and works perfectly. I paid $5. However, the seat cushion is complete garbage. I paid extra for the cushion expecting some comfort, but it was a very disappointing experience. It is made of foam that doesn't fit the bench properly, the stitching is of very poor quality, and the carrying bag is made of material that is too flimsy to support the weight of the bench.
