Disappointing
Bought to repel a skunk. The skunk sets the unit off, but the animal totally ignores it. Has no repelling effect at all. Attached a picture of "Flower" on our patio. To get there, it walked right past the Ultrasonic Repeller.

Scam allert
This product does NOT work! One of the past reviewers was correct. Only 1 of the 85 positive reviews was by a confirmed buyer. They obviously wrote their own reviews, some by the same name and many on the same date. Placed it within 15 feet of the area I was trying to clear and tried all settings, nothing works. Did not repel skunks, bunnies, squirrels or chipmunks. I can hear it make a noise and see the led light, but the animals don't move one bit.

"Who put this dang thing here?"
I'm not sure if it's fully effective. I felt like I had seen a decrease in the number of ground squirrels around the side of my house and my well pump enclosure. But then this morning I saw one guy hanging out near (but not within range of) the repeller. A few minutes later I noticed what you see in the picture.Frankly, I'm not sure what to make of that. It looks like he's trying to cover the motion sensor with his dumb little paws - so maybe the sound is annoying him. It definitely clicks away when I move near it, so it is active.I adjusted the placement earlier today so that it covers a wider area. We'll see if that helps any.

WASTE of money
Appears to be almost worthless. Light comes on IF I get with-in three feet, but NOT over four ft. Light is weak and hardly visible even in the DARK. NO audible sound at all. The CHINESE instructions are difficult to read w/o magnifier. Set up on MAX settings and placed with-in five feet of the Gopher city. It does not seem to scare anything. Updated comment> Feb 21, It is worthless. NO audible, no light, sensitivity set for MAX= 2 INCHES. Set in the most heavily active area, NO change. Sorry, I missed the return date. NOTE> we have SUNNY days and NO precip in TX panhandle. The charger might be defective, therefore not enough energy to power the device. Still=worthless.

THIS WORKS! (for raccoons for sure)
This is the second time I bought this product. I bought this the first time because we found a family of raccoons in our backyard. I put it in our yard and I didn't see any raccoons afterwards. I wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or not, but I just kept it out there for good measure. Over a year later the raccoons were back! I thought for sure this thing didn't work then, but when I went to look at it, the rechargeable battery had died. So I took it out of the ground and cleaned the solar panel, then laid it down on the ground to recharge it in the sun. Those raccoons saw that it was on the ground and stole it! Then they made a mess of my garden. I'm pretty sure they knew that "awful sound" was coming from this device, so once they were able to get to it, they hid it. So now I'm buying my second one to replace the one they took. I'm happy to know this really does work though!

Should have believed the one star reviews. Item did arrive as scheduled. Charged with USB before placing in the garden area. They did not keep the squirrels out of my garden. Squirrels just climbed up tomato vines and eat the the small tomato's. The Ultrasonic device didn't even phase them. One of the devices, I had ordered two, started activating when there was nothing in the area and would also activate just with the Sun shinning on it. They would run right in front of them and activate it but just ignored it. I returned them to Amazon without any problems. Will have to try to find something else to scare the squirrels out of my garden. For right now they have eaten all my tomato's for this year.

Won't scare the rabbits away!
Set the unit up, made a noise and light flashed, so I went ahead and planted some smooth skinned cacti, buy morning they had all been chewed and were mostly gone. Waste of money! I'll build chicken wire cages to protect them when I replant.

We feed birds, squirrels and ducks. Two neighborhood cats hunt them and they have to crawl behind the hedges to hide. I purchased this to scare the cats away. When I first received it I turned it on. It made our small dogs bark but they were ready to bite it, not run away. The cats ignored it too, walking right past it to hide under the feeder. They had to rub fur against it to squeeze past. I watched one enter then scared it away myself as it ran right past the "repeller".
