Bottom boards are solid-style, assembled, and unpainted. They are made from plywood and fir or spruce by Utah woodworkers in Utah from Utah trees, where possible. Beekeepers can stack the hive body on top of the bottom board, or attach them together with screws. On the hive, the bottom board is located under the bottom box. It has cleats around 3 sides, and the open 4th side creates a hive entrance. There is one bottom board per colony. Note: Bottom boards are solid-style, assembled, and unpainted.
