Cannot count to 6
The beans are great, only three stars until the shipping problem gets fixed though:Amazon has tried three times now to get this order right. Each time I have received precisely ONE 6 ounce bag of freeze dried beans. The description explicitly states 6-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6). That means 36 ounces total, not 6. (please see edit below, leaving this statement here for the record) Save yourself some grief and order the other Leonard Mountain beans. They arrived in the quantities specified and are just as good. This product has apparently been entered into the Amazon computers incorrectly and someone cannot figure it out.Needless to say, having to go back to Amazon customer support multiple times is aggravating. And to be fair, in many years of doing business with Amazon (since the time when they sold only books) this is the very first time I have had a problem, and they have already refunded my purchase price in full for this item. So Amazon does indeed have superior customer service. I'm sure they'll figure it out so others will not have to experience this.Edit: Amazon has subsequently updated their page and put this back on sale, so I must presume that they have the shipping thing figured out. As far as product quality goes, these (and all of the Leonard Mountain freeze dried beans) are great. When I get home late and need to whip up some dinner quickly, these make a handy item to have on hand. A healthy and hearty item, much better for me than fast food. I take a cup or so of these and some minute rice (yes, I know, but we're talking fast and easy here, if I have 45 minutes I'll make regular rice), some chili pepper, onion, and a jar of tomatoes, and viola, dinner. Then I can go to bed, get up early, go to work, and do it all over again. And again. And again. Sigh.

One of the things I would like to know
These freeze-dried, precooked black beans are exactly what they say they are. One of the things I would like to know, though is the nutritional information and what the volume is when they are rehydrated. I did a test. About one-third of a cup of these gives you about three-quarters of a cup of beans when you let them soak in water for a few hours. There are TWO IMPORTANT things to know about these beans: (1) They are very light in weight because they are freeze-dried. (2) They are precooked. Just soak them in water. What a great food to take with you when every ounce of weight counts. Think backpacking and bug-out bags. Some of the beans I used for the volume test, I drained and put on a salad. Others I put in some already heated soup. Better than canned beans; they don't have the goopy stuff that comes in the can. I'll definitely be buying more of these.
