Old style Armenian music
Wife loved the music. Brought back memories. I ordered the CD well before Christmas and received it two weeks after Christmas because it came from the UK which I was not aware of. Very disappointed in deliberately slow shipping.

Hachig Kazarian's "Armenia Armenia" is just a fantastic album for any fan of Armenian music. I wish that Monitor Records would re-release more of their Armenian music catalog from the same period as this album. There were some great recordings made back then, and my vinyl copies (that I inherited from my grandpa's collection) are in pretty bad shape.With regards to the reviewer that says, "My grandfather is probably turning in his grave", I would like to say that I am 100% Armenian, and MY grandfather LOVED this album (and so do I). He immigrated from Armenia, and this album was one of his favorites. It was a standard at our family get-togethers.I'll often play this CD at Armenian functions (picnics, fraternity functions, etc.) and people always want to know where they can get a copy of the album. I've never heard a bad comment about it.As for the comment, "This type of music would never be heard in Armenia", my response is... so what! All of the musicians on the album are Armenian and the songs are great. That's Hye (Armenian) enough for me!

Love that they have this as a CD!!
My mother has this as a vinyl record! Yes kids, most of us still own those :) Purchased this as a CD for her since she loves it so much. The best Armenian music ever! I remember as a child attending the yearly Armenian festival at our church in Queens and my family teaching me how to dance to this music. We actually played one of the songs from this album at my wedding. Well, now my mom can rock out to her favorite Armenian music as she drives lol. Don't judge. :)
