I love this thing
A few things... first,I love this thing, but I'm a big DIY guy. There is both assembly and soldering required, which isn't necessarily difficult, but this isn't an open the box and fly the thing. Also, drones aren't RC cars....they're not easy to fly without a little bit of work. So, if you're thinking that's what you're getting, it isn't. A few specific notes belowThis was fun and sort of challenging to solder on such a small board. After a couple points i got the hang of it. I agree with the reviews that this isn’t a toy mostly because it does require soldering and drones are not that easy to fly no matter how old you are. I’m have ZERO complaints about the quality. The components are solid. It has a few Lego parts so it’s not cheaper nor flimsier than standard lego gear. I have an idea to try the drone parts on some other types of frame ideas like wood as its seems like it'll be pretty adaptable. It would be cool if they made interchangeable frames other than lego so you could make anything a drone! But I’ll just do it myself. It could be a little cheaper for what you get, like adding frame parts or maybe more spare parts like props since those chip when you crash them a couple times when you're just learning to fly.

Good teaching project and good quality
Good teaching project and good quality. We bought one for our son as STEM project. We homeschool our 3 kids and my oldest says he wants to be an engineer (for now). We are always looking for science kits because we don't need an entire classroom of stuff, so companies like kitables are great. My son documented his building process and troubleshooting, I had him keep a lab notebook about his progress as well as his test flights. We also talked about aerodynamics a little but I don't think drones are great examples for that kind of science. He then planned out experiments to test each of the frame weights and the flight times. His 3rd experiment he plans to measure motor speeds by a yet-to-be-determined method. I do wish the kit came with some soldering tools but we ended up buying a separate kit on Amazon for $25 and it came with everything we needed so we will now look to do more circuit projects!

Not for the novice. Fly fishermen would love it. You need a magnifying stand and as the instructions suggest a mechanical arm to hold it.With persistence I managed to build it and it flew. The weak link is the wires to the motor. The gauge is to fine. They broke off the soldered connection and now they're to short to reconnect. I need 4 new motors.

I was somewhat disappointed that there weren't more lego pieces included in the box. It was a gift, so I had to buy a small box of legos to insure that it would be a welcome gift.

I wasn't as big as expected. I'm sure it is a great product but it wasn't for a ten year old. It seemed over priced for what we got.

Very disappointed! This was a gift for my nephew who loves Lego products and is now old enough to build something like this. The box arrived banged up (maybe couriers fault) and not with the parts that were shown in the picture. It was extremely difficult to assemble/solder together and some of the 'engines' only worked intermittently; plus the few times all propellers were spinning at the same time they were not actually strong enough to lift the "drone" off the ground. The controller also had a piece broken off when it was unwrapped. In the process of trying to get a refund--hopefully that goes better.

Not what you think!
Poor quality...TV add bills it as a Lego Drone set...3 legos included. Held together with plastic ties and rubber bands! For $90...no way!

Three Stars
This comes with no instructions and requires a soldering iron according to the how-to we found online...
