Esteemed punk rock juggernauts Millencolin have returned to their roots on Kingwood, a cathartic but infectious assortment of tunes that is as collectively uplifting as it is unstoppable. Recorded near Millencolin's point of origin in Orebro, Sweden with producer Chips Kiesbye of Hellacopters fame, Kingwood is an album that runs the gamut of punk's emotions and styles. Be it the hypnotic ferocity of 'My Name Is Golden', which brings a rare groove to punk rock, or the fiery Strummer/Jones nod 'Cash Or Clash', Millencolin gives unique depth to an oft-times repetitious style. Burning Heart. 2005

Not a bad album, but not great either. It's well produced and these guys really are talented musicians; but it lacks the enthusiasm and creativity of their earlier work. The songs drone on with no real high points to catch my interest.

great return to form
I have to start by saying I was let down by Home From Home in a big way. It just felt to me like it was lacking in quality songs. Kingwood erases those disappointments by rocking hard from start to finish with catchy-as-hell songs and Nikola's best lyrics yet. Obviously they're still Nikola's lyrics so they're going to be a bit goofy, but they're from the heart and I think they're his most personal yet (aside from his solo album maybe). There's a couple fast tunes that remind me of the good old days, but the midtempo songs are not lacking in energy either. All around it's a great effort and although I can't put it in the same class as For Monkeys or Life on a Plate (yet, anyway), it is an excellent album and I whole-heartedly recommend it.

I believe in Kingwood days
This cd is the essence of all that is Millencolin. It starts of great with Farewell my hell and only gets better. This is a punk rock cd worth owning. All the songs on here are great and this album is a progression of their sounds. Sure I love their older stuff but this new stuff just takes their music in a whole new direction, check tracks like Birdie and Cash or clash to see what i mean. Its got a more punk feel to it than their older ska/punk feels and it includes on the cd the making of the album which you can watch on your computer. Its a real great laugh let me tell you. If ya like punk rock or millencolin pick this up!

A step up from Home From Home but still missing something
Well this was one record I was really looking forward to for 2005 besides pennywise's new album. Being the long time Millencolin fan that I am I knew I would automatically purchase it and give the cd a start-to-end listen about a dozen times but did it touch me the way Pennybrige Pioneers or Life On A Plate did? No. And a big no at that. The only reason I've given this a 4 star rating instead of 2 or 3 is because of Biftek Supernova and Simple Twist of Hate, these two songs reminding me of the older, faster and more punk millencolin.Either way, get this album. Not necissarily the best album they've written but like i said, it's definately worth a listen.

Great album from a massively underrated punk band
Great album from a massively underrated punk band, they're like a very crisp precise rancid with elements of almost vandals esque fun....this is the 4th millencolin album i have and i think probably the best..although the others would get at least 4 stars....great band

Obra maestra
Para mi su mejor album sin duda, de principio a fin no tiene desperdicio, mención especial a "Ray", un temazo.
