fast shipping
the shipping was fast. the book is acutally a good linear algebra book that i can read and learn out of. the only problem is the book doesnt have a solution book :/

Does the job. Many examples and problems. The book is not too big.
Good all-around introductory text. It does the job. I need it for a class. It’s the only textbook dealing with these topics that I have encountered. For people seriously interested in linear algebra, Israel Gelfand’s book (from lectures) comes highly recommended. For ordinary differential equations, Vladimir Arnolds’s book is, likewise, a highly regarded treatment.

good product
i use this book for the school textbook. I think the reading the book is very confusing. make sure to get the manual too. the manual helped me a lot more than the book.

good for the price
i didn't realize that it didn't come binded. i guess that's what 'a-la-carte' means. still has all the info and i saved some coin so i can't really complain, but it was a hassle having to then go and buy a binder that would fit it all. oh well i guess.

Incredibly disorganized, filled with formatting issues and more filler.
I find myself flipping back and forth between multiple pages with how many references are made to other definitions and examples in the book. Perhaps that was the point. Maybe by flitting through the book the reader is meant to feel like they actually discovered something when really you just spent twenty minutes reading one section and thirty minutes looking for the referenced examples that are 3 chapters ahead, 2 chapters back, then 4 chapters ahead. This is only made worse because there is so much filler that the plot is lost. That along with the 3 inch WIDE margins in the instructional sections and the repetitively typed question prompts that could really use some parsing down, have convinced me that this book was purposefully inflated. The content covered in this book could easily be compressed to half the size but then I suppose they couldn't charge as much for it if they did that.

Usable but could be much better. To teachers: opt for Stewart
Normally I don't mind a couple of typos in solution manuals for textbooks, but I feel like it's just unacceptable to have typos in some of the given equations needed to solve problems. I usually rely more heavily on the textbook to learn rather than on the professor, but because of this book I've had to go to office hours much more. I'm a 4.0 student and I don't approve of this book. Now, t isn't the worst book in existence, but let's just say I didn't realize how good I had it with James Stewart Calculus books until I started trying to decipher this book, and i've heard similar complaints from other students.Minus 1 star for typos and lack of ease to read and understand compared to other books.I also find that a lot of times it just assumes everything in Calculus 1-3 is memorized by heart. I don't have a problem with this, but I do have a problem with steps being made without reference to what is being done. For example, if partial fractions is being used, it shouldn't be too hard to state the two words "partial fractions" to reference the rules.minus half a star for lack of explanationsAlso, there's no solutions available for students.Minus another half a star.Compliments for book:It makes the equations stand out that you need in blue boxes, so it makes it easy to go back and study. My professor likes to say all of this class can be learned by following the blue boxes. Just be careful of said occasional typos. It also is a reasonable price to rent, so there's that.

Summary of each chapter
The chapter is divided into each section and at the end of each chapter there is a summary which is easy to understand the chapter in easy way.
