Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Large Backpack

Overall, I've been satisfied with Travelon Anti-Theft stuff, except that the zippers always seem to fail too soon (which, I believe, is probably due to the fact that I'm not nice to things). I just got an olive drab Montegue Paratrooper Bike and a few olive drab Army helmet style bike helmets for use with it. I needed a backpack for it too. Must be properly fashionable! This backpack was the perfect volume I needed with a good number of compartments with seemingly sturdy exterior "locking" zippers (except for one smaller exterior pocket--I'll modify the zipper pull with a drill and make it locking too with some fittings). Then there's the fact that I could get it in olive drab. So apparently my mind went blank again and I guess I bought it. Damn. Tricked by olive drab again. In any event, while it's hardly seen any use, it seems to be great in all respects that I can determine and think of. And its olive drab.

I gave this backpack 5 stars because it has various compartments and the zippers are not flimsy. Also, you can put a great deal of weight inside and the straps are very comfortable and don't constantly slide down off of your shoulders. I got it for a discounted price and I had to get the olive green color, I wish the black was discounted price at the time of the purchase because I would have chosen that color instead. Very satisfied with this price point and purhase.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I wanted the antitheft features—slash proof body and straps. I’m paranoid and mistrustful of others. You can buy zipper clips, but zippers can be broken and someone could just cut your bag open. This bag seems very durable and it’s comfortable on my back. I’m 5’4 and it’s just right. The bag is a nice size but there are a few improvements that can be made. There is only one bottle or umbrella pocket, so you’ll have to pick. I don’t like that. Most bags nowadays have 2 outside pockets for items like that, so I’m not sure how Travelon left out that important design feature. The 2 front pockets are very small and narrow. It’s difficult to fit everything I need in there and then retrieve it without having to pull everything out in the process. I use this bag for school and it’s a tight fit for books, a laptop and charger, a binder or expandafile, my stethoscope and BP cuff bag, pens, pencils, post its, and some basic toiletries. It all fits, but it isn’t pretty. I would also like the ability to hang things on the outside, like a travel pillow or blanket.

I had a Travelon satchel for years, and carried it in a backpack. Now they have an entire backpack themselves and it's fantastic. All the space I need for my usual stuff along with a 3DS I carry with me everywhere. Absolutely love it.

I used this backpack on a three week trip to Europe. It kept our things safe. I also used a coiled cable and combo lock to lock our things to chairs while eating at restaurants. It held so much. I highly recommend Travelon things! I’d had purses from them and they last and last. My mom brought a Travelon purse to Europe also and she used it for day trips. Kept her things safe!! But this backpack is AWESOME. 3 main compartments. I used one for my laptop and it was safe the whole time. Love this bag!!!! I used it as my personal item on the plane and we mainly used it for walking around the city we were visiting. You really can’t go wrong with this bag. It’s the perfect size for getting around town - held two water bottles and a large folding umbrella, as well as our money and passports. RFID blocking was reassuring. I’d use it again on another trip - it held up very well!!!

I really like this bag. Bought for overseas travel to places where pickpockets are abound, this bag has kept things safe from prying hands either by deterrence, or actual protection (which hopefully it did as I was not aware of any such instances). The zippers have little clips on them that hold them closed and takes a moment to open, thus delaying unwanted openings. It is quite sizeable and has now permanently replaced my old schoolbag as my personal item on flights. The shoulder straps are nice and thick, and the back has a breathable mesh. I am very fond of the Travelon products and highly recommend this bag! Great stuff!

I was looking for a functional laptop backpack to use everyday for work, that would also be great for travel, with more of a ‘woman-in- the -city’ vibe than an ‘adventure/backpack-y’ vibe. I ordered 6 different packs to try.First impression of the Travelon Anti-theft Classic Large Backpack:Attractive styling. Looks sleek. The interior material is awesome: soft, and great color. Has enough structure to be helpful, but not stiff. Great zipper pulls and zippers. Very functional side pockets.Used the pack as my carry-on for a 1 week trip:Great organizational features. Pack holds more than I expected. True to its claims, this pack is built for security, which includes straps that are resistant to being cut. For me, this meant that when fully-loaded and heavy, the shoulder straps became uncomfortable (because of their contour, or lack of contour) and the small carrying loop on top was ALSO uncomfortable when I had to carry the bag in one hand. Not a deal-breaker, though.Used pack as every-day work bag:Love the style, love the overall size for every-day. I have to carry laptop chargers, phone chargers etc with me all the time, and there is no clear place to stow such things out of the way. The multiple pockets started to annoy me a bit... I just don’t want to think that hard about where things are on the daily! :) But still not a deal-breaker.One of the other bags I ordered to try was the Lo & Sons Hanover backpack. I fell in love with it immediately as a perfect every-day bag. Meanwhile my son (16) was eyeing the Travelon, as his former hugely-giant school backpack was falling apart. SO.... the Travelon has found a place in our home as his everyday bag (it is highly overqualified for this) but I’m quite sure I will use it again for travel. Not sure what it means when a backpack is acceptable stylistically by both a 16 year old guy and his mother, but WELL DONE TRAVELON! :)

I purchased two of these backpacks for our recent travel to Italy. With pickpocketing so prevelant over there, I wanted to ensure that I felt comfortable and save during my travels and during our excursions. The backpacks worked extremely well, were very comfortable and expanded to hold quite a bit of stuff, but right away - after only about 4 days of use, the locking zipper on the main, most important compartment, the compartment that holds your passport, credit cards and money broke and no longer clasped making its useless, on one of the bags. Now this backpack was not cheap and in my opinion, the most important feature no longer functions. I intend to reach out to the seller to seek replacement (as I did really love the bag and it helped me feel safer in my travels), but as I purchased this bag a few weeks prior to our travels I have exceeded the 30 day return period. I don’t know if the seller will honor their product and make me whole, but I certainly hope they do. I will update my review if the status changes from owning a broken anti theft backpack to a new working one. Please note, the 1 star rating is solely based on the zipper breaking immediately, if not for the broken zipper it would have been a 5 star review.

Convenient for everyday use

I havent used it yet but the quality of this backpack is as good as the smaller version I have. I'm expecting it will be an asset on my next holiday to Norway 🇳🇴

Well-made bag with plenty of storage. My daughter uses it for school.
