First Time Using WITB Church Edition
We used the Church Edition (vol 9) for the first time during our 1.5 hour Wed night children's program for 1st-4th grade. It was a big hit with the kids and we all learned a lot! The classroom dvd contains 4 video clip segments for each of the 4 lessons. A separate disc contains all the activities that go with each lesson. It was very easy to set up and use. I made a folder for each small group leader with their instructions and handout pages needed for each activity. It took 30 mins to make the copies, set up the folders and gather the materials for the first 2 lessons. (scissors, glue, markers, noisemakers, etc. No running to the store for random supplies.) We formed small groups based on age, putting no more than 8 kids together in a small group. We watched each video clip together as a large group, then immediately went to our small group areas to do each activity. It was a lot of back-and-forth, but it worked for our set-up. The kids were engaged the entire time and never got bored. The only negative was that segment 3 was too hard for the younger children. It would be nice to have a "younger child teaching option" printed somewhere on the instructions for the 1st grade kids.

Wonderful series....great presentation, holds kid's interest, and they learn a lot about the Bible! Adults do too!
