It looks like you have a small cedar log sitting on your coffee table or end table. Actually it is a unique set of eight coasters. The coasters are cleverly drilled and arranged on a spindle so that they can be used and then returned to their position on the spindle to again appear to be just a small cedar log. They have to be returned to the spindle in the correct order to again become aligned like the natural log they were cut from. Each is hand stamped (on the back side) with a number from 1-8. Simply put them back on the spindle in numerical order, nudge them into alignment and voila! They look like a log again. As you can imagine, since this is natural wood, and each is made from a cedar log, and there will variation from set to set. The diameter will vary between 3 and 4.5 inches. Each set is about 8.5 inches in overall height, and each coaster is about 3/8 inch thick. When small cedar logs dry, they will inevitably develop splits that begin on the surface of the log and go inward somewhat. These coasters will have some cracks which do not represent a defect- it is expected and a source of character and uniqueness. The finish brings out the natural color of the cedar, and seals the wood from moisture. We think you will agree that this set is natural, rustic and fun.
