I was a craftsman by trade and was highly impressed, quality wise, with this so-called 'children's tool set'. For two days now my grandson has kept the set at his side and as I work on the front deck he is sitting on the steps along with his brother and sister working away with each and every tool. I had taught them tool safety already and was not going to waste my money on a cheaper set of plastic tools. I am so happy I spent the money for a set that will easily last them for many years. The children are six, seven and eight years old so they do work the tools and are a pleasure to watch them imitate my son and I. Teach your children tool safety and buy this set with confidence. EXCELLENT tool set for your little boy!! Our son really wanted a toolbox for his 6th birthday, and we decided to go ahead and get him a good tool set as well (instead of all the regular disposable "kid tool sets" that are plastic). These are just as good as the working adult versions. I feel the price is perfectly fair for the quality of what you get!! It's a fully-functional, sturdy set of metal tools that are just sized a bit smaller. They are pretty heavy and are not tiny, and actually they could work fine for an adult, so you probably can't get these for a child much younger than 5 or 6. (My little 3-yr.-old son LOVES borrowing his brother's tools and has wonderful fun with them, but the hammer especially is really too large and cumbersome for the hands of a child that small.) My only suggestion is that they revise the toolBOX a little bit (all the tools are great as they are). The toolbox clasps are very cheap and weak compared to the rest of the kit--after just a few weeks of use, the clasps already feel like they're giving up and bending out of shape so that they won't hold the toolbox firmly closed much longer or will just bend right off. Good clasps like on an adult toolbox would be a huge improvement. My other complaint is that maybe the individual compartments for each tool could be just slightly less tight--it is REALLY hard to squeeze some of the tools into their slots, even for an adult! A child is hardly able to get up enough force to squeeze everything back in at just the right angle!

I was hoping it was a smaller version of adult tools, nope, it's adult sized tools, this isn't helpful for my 5 year old, I may give it to my 10 year old nephew instead and compile smaller handled tools for my 5 year old, he really wants to help out and I don't want to make him use toys

I had to write my own review and hope someone reads it:The kit itself is great, good tools and a perfect easy to carry case for kids. I bought for my 6 year old nephew.The kit was actually sold out for a couple weeks and I emailed the company; not only did I get a reply saying it would be back in a couple weeks, but the owner later remembered my email and took the time to send me another note as soon as the kit was back in stock.I love this company! I'm buying the leather tool belt and the vest too. Highly recommend this product.

Great quality tool set. Case is great for teaching kids to keep tools organized, each one has its own place. Great way to remind kids that a tool might be floating around before putting the box away. The tools are a sized right for kids. The hammer is weighted and sized for a kid to learn the correct way of handling and swinging. Dad can even "borrow" and use them which makes allows my son to participate in projects around the house. Very quick delivery. Thanks.

These are not kids tools. They're real tools for kids. Expect heavy steel, well constructed tools.The kids (girls) got curious quickly. Before I knew it they were using the tools to experiment.I gave 4 stars because the tools nest too snuggly in the case for kids to get out on their own (I had to use a scree driver to pry the pliers and channel lock out.Also, the tools aren't scaled down in size very much. This gives room for kids to grow into them. My kids are 5. So the tools can be difficult to get their hands around.

My 5-year-old daughter got this for her birthday, and she loves it! Everyone at her birthday party was impressed that the tools were REAL! My daughter has since been going around the house finding things to "fix." We like to attend do-it-yourself workshops at our local home improvement store, so these will be great for her to take along to the next one. These are more her size than the adult ones. She can carry the tool box up and down the stairs herself. She's been asking Daddy what each of the tools can do. Now, we just need to get her some scrap wood, nails, and screws so that she can quit "fixing" random things around our house.

My son LOVED getting this for Christmas. I was really impressed at the quality of tools. They're much more sturdy than I expected. We used them to put together the new smoker I received and they held up just fine. If your child is into building things, I think this is a great starter set! We also purchased a leather tool belt from the same company. It too was impressive.
