Exactly as described and served the purpose
This is exactly what I was looking for and am unsure why cables weren't included with the camera. I had over 2000 pictures to upload to my computer and Wi Fi was out of the question. This connected easily and allowed me to quickly upload my pictures and videos.

The type of cable matters after all
When I tried unsuccessfully to connect my new Canon to the computer, the USB cable I was using - because it fit - wouldn't make the transfer of pics and video. Looking on line for a solution, I discovered that others experienced the same problem. The advice was to use a cable made specifically for the Canon. I did it and it worked!

It works great. I Have no complaints at all
