Hardcore Hammers Carpenter’s Hatchet Sheath, Custom Top Grain Leather Sheath, Fits Carpenter’s Hatchet

After reading the reviews, and measuring twice, I took the chance and purchased this for my Vaughn 22 oz carpenters hatchet. It fits like a glove. The leather appears to be of very high quality and adds to my modded vaughn hatchet. For those of you curious, I stripped the handle and treated it with BLO. I stripped the head and did an overnight vinegar bath. I drilled a hole at the end and added a rawhide loop. It looks much better and the very high quality Hardcore Hammer sheath completes the package. 5 stars.

I ordered this with fingers crossed, hoping it would fit my Vaughan (22-Ounce) Carpenter's hatchet. It fits like a glove. It requires a little persuasion for it to fit in there, but I'm quite sure with a few days of use, it will naturally stretch to fit it easily. The only worry I have is that the button snap on the inside of the sheath might rub or scratch the axe head. Only time will tell, and I will update this post to reflect that in the future. Another thing to note is that my product arrived with am inch-long scratch/scrape on the front of the sheath. It's not too big of a deal to me, as I'm sure it'll earn many more with use.

Had to place it in a vise and stretch it with channel locks to get it to fit and engage the snap.

This little sheath appears to be well made and the leather is so thick I'm pretty sure it will outlive me. However, I am only giving four stars because of the rather steep price. I have always said that quality trumps price, but $17 just seems a bit high to me.

I bought the Carpenters Hatchet and sheath mid morning on Saturday Nov. 4th. The hatchet arrived the same day with the sheath arriving the following Tuesday, as promised. The sheath is constructed from quality leather and fits perfectly. It’s was very stiff out of the box and wouldn’t quite fit over the blade. I rubbed a little oil over the entire surface to soften it up and was then able to get it in place. This is a good thing! You want the sheath to fit YOUR hatchet, not some factory template.Bottom line...., Great accessory to a fantastic tool!

Tired of prized hatchet hammer getting knocked around. The sheath fits perfectly and I can store my hatchet knowing nothing is going to get dinged up. Nice quality product.

Amazon offered a package deal for the Supernaturalist and a leather sheath, but the sheath was for a different, larger axe. It doesn't fit, but it's well made.Amazon needs to get their act together.

Fits my great grandpa's Estwing just fine.Nice heavy duty leather too.Highly recommend. I do think it's a bit expensive, but it fulfilled my need perfectly.
