Review: Update your train in the app first! - At first this did nothing and my son just played with it anyway. I just now (a year later) realized it’s supposed to actually wash and maintain your train on the respective sides. If you open up the Brio app there’s an icon in the top right for parents only. Go in there and select “update engine”. Turn on your train so they can connect and it will upload all the new sounds and features to your train. The headlights turn blue and flash for a bit while it loads. Then it’ll go “woohoo” and give you an all done screen and you’re good to go! My four year old is THRILLED that he has new sounds and can watch his train drive it and get serviced. He still prefers to just drive a plain train in there and have his little brio people do the work but I can say 100% it works as it should if you update your train. Also if you have red headlights that means your battery is low and it may not go through all the motions it’s supposed to.
