Unruled Composition Notebook: Requested By College Students The World Over Diary – September 14, 2012

I love this notebook! I purchased this to take cleaner notes and it has not disappointed. I am a sucker for stationary and have these beautiful Pilot Mica pens I use that bleed through regular paper but this paper is thick enough to prevent that (see pictures). It feels like a thin version of linen paper and does not dry out my hands. Bonus it doesn't seem to absorb my makeup, so while all my text books have makeup fingerprints when I touch my face during study seshes this one is finger print free. The notebook lays open pretty well (although not supremely absolutely flat). The cover is like a laminate cardboard which I don't mind, but it is definitely not as durable as the harder cardboard covers of traditional composition books so keep that in mind while purchasing. The bottom corners have slots for dates, but are not numbered (in case you need them for lab). I am absolutely purchasing these again.

Kid (age 13) wanted a sketchbook that didn't feel too expensive and formal, having previously rejected several nice artist's quality hard-back sketchbooks that I'd brought home for her as too fancy and not "casual enough" for sketching and practice. This fit the bill perfectly. The paper quality is what I'd call "better printer paper" and the cover is approximately equal to a paperback book's cover. Think laminated cardstock.It's basically a little better paper quality than a standard lined spiral notebook, but there are no lines to get in the way of drawing, and it's got a perfect binding (glued binding) instead of a spiral binding. Perfect for sketching and doodling, but not so "too nice" that you feel the pressure to produce gorgeous, lovely, perfect drawings.

Seems like it will hold up well for everyday use. I wouldn't recommend it for fountain pen use though because the paper isn't high quality enough. I have the Pilot Metropolitan retro with a fine ink and the ink feathered on the paper after writing.

I ordered two of these notebooks, and received one that was the size stated, and one that was noticeably smaller. The pages are just what I was looking for- blank with a place to write the date- but the cover leaves much to be desired as it is advertised as a "composition book" but the cover is very flimsy, not sturdy like traditional composition books. This should be noted in the item's description, particularly since they are almost $6 apiece.

It is kind of like a very glossy magazine cover or a large heavy square paperback book.. It's not as sturdy as a composition book either. The inside paper is ok and I'll use it but really I was looking for a composition book and wouldn't have bought this if I knew it was just a blank paperback book.

Purchased this as a sketchbook for the kids, they love it. Other reviews let us know to expect a soft cover, but that has not been an issue at all. Made in the USA, which is nice, too.

This was not what I was expecting. Its a softcover composition book and i thought it was going to be hardish covered like the classic black and white ones. Also the cover has this weird glossy finish to the cover. Just feels cheap, and not satisfying in anyway. But it is still functional and I use it rarely, so I give it 2 stars.

I love that the pages are unruled, I wish there were more unruled notebooks out there for note taking! My only complaints are that this doesn't lay flat like a normal composition notebook and I wish it were just a bit larger.
