Anyone who has tried to find Martin Hanford's famous illustration of Wally in those crowds of people will know that it's not as simple as it first seems. You see, they ease you in gently with a couple of basic images and then BOOM! Wally is nowhere to be seen! Clever people these illustrators you know. Thinking back now, we should have written down where to find Wally, so it didn't take us as long the next time round... but where's the fun in that right? We do wonder though where Martin Handford got his ideas from. We wonder if he sat on a park bench somewhere and spotted a guy, a tall guy, with blue jeans and a striped top. And that guy was just walking along with a cane, carefree wearing his matching bobble hat of course. Martin might have had his "Aha!" moment and captured this (strange) image on a little pocket sized jotter. Wow....
