Good fit for Trane XL13i
The sleeve bearings were worn on the compressor fan motor for our Trane XL13i, and it would not stay running even after being cleaned and oiled. This was listed as the superseding replacement part. Everything fit properly. The overall length from the back of the motor to the tip of the shaft is slightly longer, so I mounted the fan a little farther onto the shaft to compensate. The new motor came with four mounting screws. The mounting holes were not threaded, but screwing the screws in formed threads with little effort. I discarded the original screws, which were a smaller size. The heads of the new screws are the same hex size as the screws that hold the panels onto the sides of the unit. The colors (red-black and purple-brown) matched the original motor's colors. I took a reference photo and connected the new wires the same way. The old "brown" wire was closer to orange, probably due to fading.

Perfect replacement for Trane XL14i
Perfect replacement, fixed the squeaky old motor that was slowly dying and spinning less and less (and running up my electric bill). Like someone else mentioned, I had to tap the holes on top. Not a terribly big deal, it's soft white metal, so you could probably just force the screws in there. But tapping made it perfect. For what it's worth, Trane XL14i needed holes tapped with 10-32. All the wires were perfect length, and came with the terminals already on. Just unplugged the old, threaded some wires, and plugged in the new. Just watch that capacitor!

When replacing, match the hp, rpm, and amps
Bought this motor to replace an Emerson which failed after 10 years of service. The color codes were sliglty different but the cable sets were different lengths, so it was easy to figure out. It was an exact electirc spec and physical fit, brought my AC back to life.

Motor arrived and works fine in my Trane unit
Motor arrived and works fine in my Trane unit. The mounting holes in the original were tapped threaded holes. The mounting holes in this motor were not tapped, only drilled. I was able to tap the holes and mount with original screws. Thus 4 stars.
