A cup of history
Let me start off with a vision of taking a moment to reflect on history each and every morning with a nice cup of piping hot tea in this wonderfully reproduced Jacob Bromwell cup. Then let's get down to the reality: this cup looks great but beyond that it doesn't do much else. I'm not trying to say it should sing and dance or anything, but I only drank from it once and it created a horrible tin taste in my mouth for some time. It has since been repurposed as a great accent piece on my bookshelf and it has served a good life so far as a conversation piece but I wouldn't plan on drinking your morning joe from it. I didn't have any problems with rusting like some other reviewers have mentioned, but I did take a significant amount of time to make sure it was dried out thoroughly.

The cups are very cool looking. After washing them, I poured myself a cup of fresh water, and realized the water had a "tinny" taste to it. I suppose that's kind of a "Duh" thing on my part not to think of that, but I hadn't. Live and learn. Am using them as seed-starters for some flowers. Very cute.

Tin Cup Worked
Have been kidding a small resturant owner friend of mine that if she doesn't stop being so generous, she'll end up at the front of her place holding a tin cup in order to get by. Spotted this authentic product. Ordered it. Had it in engraved with her name and "Little Tin Cup." Gave it to her as I sang (to the tune of "A Little Tin Box" from "Fiorello") "Just a little tin cup, a little tin cup, that everyone must fill up..." She couldn't stop laughing _ and loved it! It is now on display in her restaurant and we throw pennies into it!

Nice cup, just don't add water
Tin does not rust, yet this cup was covered with rust within a week. Granted, I hung it on a hook in the garden to water the gardener, so some corrosion was anticipated. But a week? C'mon. How long before it's full of holes?
