Looks like all these colors.** A: It is all those colors. And more. **Q: Can I paint metal with it?** A: I personally have used it to paint designs on plastic rubber mud flaps without a clear coat and it lasted for 5 years, it did fade a little , I sold the vehicle so I am not sure how much longer it lasted. Also used it to paint name on metal mailboxes and hanging signs. It faded but has lasted about 20years. I did not use any primer and didnt prep the surface. **Q: does this set come with paint thinner** A: Yes it does but you may want to consider getting a larger container to fill it up when you run out. You would be surprised how fast paint thinner disappears especially when using several different colors and brushes that are different sizes that use more paint and paint thinner to keep clean. **Q: Is the enamel paint oil-based or water-based?** A: Well Testors is an enamel, it is definitely not water based! I do not think it is oil based either. I think it's solvent is an alcohol. For anyone that asks, Testors was the standard paint for model makers for about 50 years, now the Acrylics are taking over. The Acrylics are definitely water based. A cup of water is all that is needed for a brush cleaner.Another BTW, in the Testors Promotional Kit shown ... the bottle of "paint thinner" is way tooooo small, buy an additional bottle about 5 times bigger. This thinner/solvent is needed as a brush cleaner. I keep a spare bottle to put the "used" cleaner in and I keep it as a "sanding sealer" rather than dumping it down the drain.Joe ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Testorbpaint *by A***O on 22 July 2020* Estas pinturas son una garantía para el modelismo ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High quality *by A***I on 17 October 2019* High quality and beautiful set ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hasn't Changed a Bit *by S***Z on 10 December 2025* These Testors enamel paints are the same ones I used to buy for a quarter a bottle back in the '70s. Except for the price, they are the same quality as they always were. Now that acrylic paints have largely replaced solvent based paints, it's harder than ever to find these. The value pack assortments are definitely the way to go. My only gripe is that they come with a tiny little bottle of thinner. You need to use this thinner for cleaning brushes, as ordinary mineral spirits won't cut it. I've never tried lacquer thinner, but that could be an affordable option. Regardless, these are the paints I prefer. The flat colors have the best flow, but do best with multiple coats. Gloss colors are thick and very shiny, drying to a hard enamel. Forget about airbrushing with these, this is old school crafting paint. If you want super detail and layered effects on Minifigures, consider acrylics. If you want to paint metal toy soldiers, these work great. ## Frequently Bought Together - Testors 9146XT Promotional Enamel Paint Set( Packaging may vary) - Testors Cement Plastic Model Glue Adhesive 2-Pack, 6 Fine Detail Miniatures Paint Brushes, Precision Crafting Knife with Extra Blades and Tips - PANDAFLY Detail Paint Brushes Set, 15pcs Miniature Brushes for Fine Detailing & Art Painting - Acrylic, Oil, Watercolors & Paint by Number, Models, Face, Nail, Craft --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/317039514-9146xt-promotional-enamel-paint-set](https://www.desertcart.be/products/317039514-9146xt-promotional-enamel-paint-set) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
