My husband was actually the one who used this to help me make pillow covers (shams) . The thread that it came with is about the "strength of a tissue" my husband said, so plan on using your own thread (on a bobbin) - thus the 4 stars. Other than that, the machine worked well and definitely did a nice sewing job for the straight lines we needed. With our thread, the stitches held strong. I am mechanically challenged but, as long as you know how to work a sewing machine and read the directions, you will be able to use this just fine. The trickiest part was tying the knot at the end but, again, if you understand how the machine works and the stitches are formed (and read the directions), you should be able to tie up the last stitch so that it doesn't unravel.

My excitement for this product turned into extreme disappointment. First of all, the box the product was packaged in looked banged up. And I can't say it was because of how it was shipped because the box it was shipped in was in great condition. Than theres the fact that the items were NOT as described. The button area came disconnected. I had to sneeze both side together in order to get it to seal. And the button was just as defected as before I had to piece it together. Lastly, I got only 1 extra needle instead of 2. And all 3 extra bobbins were white (instead of various colors). Did I mention that this product looked though it was used. And. its not because it came already assembled, but because the extra pieces looked as though someone tried it out, changed their mind and just threw everything back in the bag and box.

Couldn't figure out how to use it. I wanted to use it for patches on my kids scout vests but I couldn't get it to tie a knot.

I just received this. I can only get about 3-5 stitches before the needle comes unthreaded. Argh!!!! I've watched YouTube to make sure I'm threading it correctly, yet it won't stay threaded. The thread may be old, but...Plus, I received none of the "bonus" materials, no extra thread, threader, extender. Nothing!I may be back to update this review.

I bought this for my daughter as she is interested in sewing, but not ready for my large sewing machine. Due to buying early in October I can no longer return and am out the $14 I paid for it.It is horrible. The needle does not stay threaded, the needle does not lift high enough so you can barely get two layers of material in it and it is very awkward to use.It was a disappointing gift. I am not on the search for something better for her.

Takes time to get used to.
