This got to me in the mail very quickly, just as my order described!It is a shame that the portrait Cain found in regard to one case in this Manga was CENSORED!!!!!!!

I love Godchild. I mean to me its up there with Mars and all my other favorite manga. The artwork is beautiful, the story dark and suspenseful and the characters interesting and well fleshed out. The only part that I don't like about volume four is the big blurb that says its explicit and the packaging on it. Why? Because although Godchild is violent and at times graphic its not that graphic.But besides that I have to say that this series is great and I would highly reccomend it.

"Little Miss Muffet" has Cain and Jizabel facing off over an extremely odd little girl named Mikaila, while "Bloody Maria" finds Cain going undercover to solve a string of disappearances of young blondheaded boys. Yuki has improved tremendously at working the larger storyline into the episodes that make up each volume, keeping the episodic feel without sacrificing the larger storyline. *** ½

If you are an interested reader of the gothic Victorian era, then you may be interested in the 'GodChild' series, illustrated by Kaori Yuki. This is one of my more memorable and beautiful works of hers. I have been collecting her series and finally obtained her 4th volume.Within each chapter is a twisted view of Great Britain, as Cain Hargreaves walk the cobble stone streets solving mystery one after another. The author has certainly captured a great feel of England, from the detail of clothes, expressions and postures. Sometimes the dark stories of the family and strangers he meet can be overwhelming and at times, bizarre.It's strange that Viz never labelled that in the first few books and sort of mislabelled it as a Shojo story. It isn't your typical young girl's shojo, but a rather morbid and angst-ridden story with murders and some forms of mutilation. But otherwise an interesting read overall. Warning for readers; it has explicit violent content and not suited for 12-14 year old.
