Now we're getting somewhere.
Kaori Yuki, Godchild, vol. 2 (ViZ, 2001)Godchild picks up full steam in volume 2, which starts off with "Butterfly Bones," a four-episode(!) story. I didn't know Yuki had it in her to come up with a story arc that long, and I'm very glad she did. It's the series' strongest entry to date. The book is rounded out with two one-episode wonders that are decent, but nothing special; "Butterfly Bones," which presents an entire story in itself while advancing the larger plot arc (which is finally coming into focus), is the real draw here. This series is starting to get good. *** ½
