2 X Whirlpool 4396701 FILTER 6 EDR6D1 Kenmore 46-9915 Compatible Coral Filter

I thought I would go low bid on these water filters. I received them just fine from the USPS. When I put in the first one of the pair into our Kenmore Coldspot Model 106 (from about 2005), I got a slow leak at the base of the Fridge. This showed up several hours after I installed it. I knew to be careful with them, since sometimes generic filters can be a problem. I put in the second one, and the same slow leak appeared. This was on a Friday when we were preparing to go out camping. So, I ran out to our local Sears to get the full priced model 46-9915. I put that one in, and turned off the water supply for the weekend. I came back on Sunday, turned on the water supply, ran lots of water through the filter, and no leak after several days. So, maybe this works just fine with some of the other Fridge Models, but if you have a Kenmore Model 106 from 2005ish, be careful.

So far so good! Been 2 months with 1st filter and water and ice still taste so much better. At this price,. I'll be happy if each last for only 3 months. I will update in another month or two.Update: been 4 months now and water and ice still tastes great. I don't use water everyday though so everyone may have different results. I estimate my usage at 3 cups of water daily.

Worked well on our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator. It has been 3 months and time to replace.

This is something you don't want used. It's all I needed, I can always count on amazon .
