XLR connectors are completely unsupported, they rely entirely on the solder points to hold them in place. These characters are extremely easy to break off. Extremely poor design.

This product is good if you’re tired of messing with dipswitches to decide to dumbstrip LEDs. But build quality and difficult obtuse menus are rough. It’s easier to use the dip switch type of boxes honestly. One warning: the solder joints on the DMX cables are weak, so do not expose this unit to any form of stress on the solder joint, have bought 5 and one failed during a show when a tech plugged in the dmx input. Good for perm install, but don’t use on a touring rig or anything mobile or that needs to be plugged in / unplugged multiple times. Also the menu is a nightmare and has made many an LD frustrated just to assign an address. Basically it feels like dumb luck to toggle from a test color pallet to DMX address mode. Requires a strange dual button press that works … sometimes? This is a product that you should balance price vs use case. Would be decent in home install or venue etc that won’t be touched once configured, granted that its grounded properly and checked for safety of input DC voltage. Would be prudent to install an in-line fuse on all LEDs and input DC voltage. Use proper gauge wire and don’t go too thin.
